Jordan Cook

Sorry if this is already a thread.... was wondering what has happened to him?? With Kerkar seemingly the weak link in the team, and Jackson proving solid in the middle but a weakness when played on the left (by the fact that by playing him and Pritch left and right we are essentially playing 4 CM's with a complete lack of pace and natural width). Is there any reason Cook has not been given a go out on the left. It is our weakest position, and even if he is lightweight defensively, he cannot be a lot more lightweight than Kerkar can he??

Is he playing reserve/ under21 or what?? Or has he come on and I have just missed this??

  • Fair point, except that he played left midfield at Forest and was cack. Maybe CP fancies Kerkar more, even if very few of us can see many positives in Kerkar. Personally, I would give Callum Harriot a chance ahead of Cook.
  • Everyone forgets Wiggins being out. Yes Jacko isnt great on the left, but part of our success last year was the Jacko / Wiggins combo on the left. I would put Jacko back out wide in a week or so when Wiggins must surely be back. They work well together and Wiggins is arguably the more offensive threat of the two.
  • Yes I do agree that Jacko is significantly better with Wiggo, and his solidity and footballing nouse gives Wiggins the license to overlap and know he will be utilised giving us the natural width and pace we are missing. But even then, I just felt out on the left Jackson looked solid but nothing more. Now he has come inside he is getting closer to last seasons form. But I just feel as a wide player, his lack of pace is being found out in this league. If you look at the teams doing well in this league they have strength out wide. Palaces two wingers tore us apart. That is what we are missing. If i was a full back I would not be worried about the prosect of playing Jackson.
  • I think he's on holiday at the moment , a cruise perhaps, i hear there are some good deals to be had.

It's unfair to write Cook off after one away game where the whole team was awful. Kerkar has had more chances than that and Cook looked decent when he came on earlier on in the season. He's worthy of a place on the bench at least as is Waggy. Good shout on Harriot, really exciting player.
  • Cook was actually put on the right of midfield that game and was then moved to the centre before finally getting a chance on the left. Would like to see more.
  • Harriott isn't disciplined enough. Exciting yes but too prone to wandering.

Bit of a billy big spuds attitude too

Was told he was going to be the next big thing but seems to have gone backwards.....
  • Forgot we had Cook. He has seemed to have disappeared.

Well if he also was told/believed he was The Next Big Thing then maybe he assumed he had it made and stopped trying so hard?
  • If he's not in Powell's immediate plans surely he is at the age and level where he should be out on loan somewhere.

True, but we are past the loan window now.

  • Cook will play his part at some part I expect. We have seen this season already that a flurry of injuries always needs to be accounted for and supported with good back up.

Was impressed with Cook in the cup game against Leyton Orient.

Or just moved out permanently. Nothing at all against the lad but reminds me a bit of the likes of Myles Weston and Jamal Campbell-Ryce. Would probably go on to have a decent career at L1/L2 level. Would need to drop the attitude though, if that's true, or he'll sink without trace.
  • Let's not forget that Harriott is still only 18. The likes of Chris Solly didn't start making regular first team appearances until he was 20.
  • Havent been impressed by him in the few times I have seen him play, also had an eye infection at some point which will have hindered him.

    And hes ginger
