CP's Plan

Like many others I was a little surprised by the team that CP picked for the Millwall game, but on reflection it might all be part of the plan,so how about this:
The best we could expect from the Millwall game was a draw but we need to beat Brighton at home, after that we have two winnable away games. Therefore the team for the Den would not risk any players coming back from injury but put a team out that would not loose but might not win. So we got the draw and have Haynes, Fuller and Wilson ready to return and Flimpong well rested after two games in a few days.
So all we now need is some positive news on Wiggins and what about Cook is he fit and is he a left sided player?

So against Brighton JJ can go back on left in place of Kerkar, Flimpong can come into the midfield with Pritchard or Wilson or Green on the right.
Up front choose any two from Yann, Hulse, Fuller, Haynes and WP.
In defence Morro comes back for either Dervite or Cort and there is always the possibility of Wilson on the right and Solly on the left.

Now that is quite a few choices CP has to make.

  • Chris Powell doesnt necessarily have the same view of Kerkar as a lot of people on here
  • your idea has some mileage since we all expected to see something of Haynes and Frimpong so maybe they were being rested / given time to get fit while we held on for a point...

not sure how many games you've been to but Solly has to play right back and JJ has to scrap for a place in centre midfield with Stephens and Frimpong unless it's a 5 in the middle... what I mean is that no one wants to see Solly at left back nor JJ left half as it 's not good.

Every week goes by and one of the left backs will be closer to fitness as will our more free scoring strikers. And maybe the Jan window will bring some new faces as the board and CP look to strengthen the squad, especially if we can get some results
  • I would agree except Ping pong needs game time and could have shored up our central midfield.

Chrissy knows that 3 points next week will make this point massive. 3 points are 3 points -no matter who you get them from. You don't rush hamstrings back - you think you are fully recovered and they go again. You have to add a week or two for safety. with 5 or 6 first teamers missing - they still couldn't beat us at home. We'll be above them soon enough.
  • I think frimpong wouldve got caught up in the moment and we couldve been down to 10 the boy loves a tackle
  • I think Seabourne settled into the game after struggling to deal with Feeney early on. Kerkar is not good enough in my opinion and I'd rather see Wagstaff or Cook out there.
