FA CUP

  • I reckon this will be a fiver.
It will be a very even game, Huddersfield are a pretty equal team to us in many ways.

I will go, but I wish it was a different fixture haha.
  • Hopefully will have a few more points on the board then a nice cup run.
Prefer Hudders to Stoke or Man C at home.
Biggest + is no Palace or Millwall.
  • I'll be doing my christmas shopping that day

    Good luck with that!

Starting early or planning on giving iou's on the day? ;o)
  • I'll go if they have a few deals going. Will be the day after my 40th birthday. Could just become something I can afford - a family day out.
  • Well I'll be there. Maybe it would be a good idea not to open the West Upper, dunno the options there. There is a lot of football to be played before this fixture, who knows what state both teams/clubs will be in by then.
  • A good chance to give some fringe players a go for me.

It's all about staying in the Championship this season and would like to see some of the youngsters and others given a go.
  • First opportunity to welcome the new owners on the pitch and welcome the first of the many signings they have financed.
  • Anymore than a fiver then no one will go ?

Struggle to get 5000/6000 even then!

Us, Palace and Millwall all have home ties.

That should keep the Met busy.
  • Well I'm sure our game will be moved as no doubt Sky will be licking their lips right now and will definitely want to be showing this, the juiciest tie of the 3rd round!!

    How disappointing.
  • The magic of the cup.

It's not going to be a fiver. The clubs only get 45 per cent after VAT, so at £5 they'd get less than £2 each per spectator after costs. The fiver thing only really works for league games or things like the JPT that no one will attend anyway.
  • May be Waggott will apply for the CEO job when he's in the Board room!
  • Would be foolish to charge normal Championship prices for this IMO, especially with four home games in 18 days.

Agreed. £10 quid or some multi ticket deal
  • Huddersfield at home - could we have got a more boring tie than that?

Would at least have been better to get a non-league side at home and have a bit of excitement for them, this is a tie that nobody gives a toss about.
  • Even if it is only a pound don't think any of us can be bothered to go! That tie couldn't have got any worse all I see is a team of fringe players put out and a scappy boring 1-0 loss

  • Underwhelming, but it gives us a good chance for a money spinner in the 4th round

Exactly, need to go for a result and get to play in the 4th round, equally need to avoid replay at all costs

  • not the most interesting drawer, price it correctly (i.e £10) and we'll get about 10-12k there.
  • Let's face it, you're never going to get a thirteen goal thriller against the likes of Huddersfield.
  • I don't think it's particularly boring. It was a cracking match last season in the league and it will be a contest between two evenly matched sides. Personally, I find home games against teams from one league lower far more boring - and dangerous.
  • "FA Cup, who gives a f*ck...
We're Charlton Athletic and we're... hoping for a solid mid table finish"

Actually, was really looking forward to a bit of a cup run this year, but not sure I am up for a trip down from Glasgow to see a repeat of the league match - which was my last visit! About the most uninspiring draw possible.
  • We're pretty much established in mid table and the risk of us going down is pretty low now and will hopefully be even more so by then. So hopefully a full strength side and a good cup run.

    LOL
Been saying that to myself every January for decades

  • It could be 7-6 again... ;-)
