Hulse is the white Leaburn. Hold up play very good. Finishing poor. I'm not complaining, but the fact is he couldn't touch the ball into an empty net last night. Headed straight at the goalie on Saturday in injury time. At Wolves he couldn't tap the ball into an empty net from 2 attempts & then headed wide at the end when he should have scored. There are others, but those are the stand outs.
I do like Hulse, but he's no goalscorer is he.

The finish against Middlesboro was one of the best goals we've scored this season. He didn't head it straight at the goalie for his finish against Cardiff either did he?

Four goals in six games says yes he is indeed a goal scorer, the most efficient one at the club in fact!

To be fair the Boro goal took a deflection on the way off of Bikey's boot. That's what put it past the keeper who would have probably saved it otherwise.
The one thing about Hulse, whether he misses or scores, is that he seems to get on the end of crosses a lot more than the rest of our strikers. His main asset in my opinion is his positioning.
Think in fuller, yann and hulse we have three very similar strikers who struggle to create a good number of chances when 2 play in a partnership but rate all of them individually.
Don't like seeing 2 of them on a team sheet but feel they all deserve a spot based on individual ability...guess that's why I'm commenting on this instead of managing
I much prefer Kermorgant think he offers us more, plus Yann is a charlton player and in my eyes a charlton player if similar quality should by picked over a loan player.
A fully fit Kermorgant should be infront of Hulse imo however i'm starting to like Hulse more than I thought I would at first. He should have a few more goals to his name though with two good chances missed at Wolves one against Huddersfield and one last night that Kermy put in.
We all love Yann but Rob Hulse - after a year of no football - has done incredibly well, probably our best loan striker for a very long time.
Someone else made the point above that as well as being an excellent 'target' he also gets on the end of things in the box - how someone can compare Hulse with Leaburn is beyond me as Hulse has 115 goals in 370 appearances, not far off 1 goal in 3 games, or 15 league goals per season.
I love Yann but rather see him back in and chest ball down rather than take a step forward and flick on to nobody. Hulse good player but bench/wages doubts.
Have to say Hulse has been excellent. Yes, he has missed some chances that he should have scored from but his overall play has been excellent, he's scored some goals and I strongly suspect that SCP would like to keep him after January if at all possible. Either by a further loan or a permanent move. Yes, it is competition for our beloved Yann but surely that can only be a good thing?
Always available, good movement and holdup play, brings team mates into play.
I bet the other players really appreciate his contribution to the side.
I agree, and he manages to get a few goals too. Kermo probably edges him out on skill/technique but in terms of team work Hulse is outstanding, especially for a loanee, many of whom we know from past bad experience don't give a toss. Hope he does stay in January, or at least extends the loan.

I think he is the sort of player harry would want back as a hold up man might be wrong
Can't see that, Hulse is decent at CCC level but not good enough any more for the Premiership - certainly not going to keep you up when you have 5 points by December.
If Haynes is fit then I'd start with Hulse and Haynes as they already have a working understanding. Then after about 60mins I'd swap Hulse for Yann as he'll be raring to go, disorganise a tiring defence, will wind up the Spanners and give good defensive cover if needed, oh yes and he might score a goal. If Haynes plays I doubt he'll last and if we were winning would swap him for a defensive midfielder or if not winning give BWP a chance with Yann. I'd save Fuller for the Brighton match.
I like Hulse. Play the ball into him and it sticks. That's something we haven't had for ages. He plays well with Danny Haynes and as controversial as this may sound, I think they're our best striking combo.

By no means Danny Haynes quick, but he can put defenders under pressure well when chasing down balls.
