Charlton v Huddersfield preview from a Town fan

Hi all, terrier in peace.

Just thought I'd share with you my preview for our match down at the Valley this weekend. I think I've been pretty complimentary about you and have predicted a narrow home win. All comments are welcome, it's always nice to see things from the oppositions point of view:

  • Good preview.

Now if you'd come on here early and asked some Charlton fans some questions....................

nice write up mate, hope your spot on with your prediction!
  • Decent write up. Think you will take a point back with you but it will definitely be a close one. Most interesting thing for me will be the 18 we name now that we have a few additions/players on the mend to consider. Powell needs to pick the right XI and get the right blend in the side which is something he has struggled with on occasion this season - if he does that and Stephens is well then I am optimistic we might deliver on your prediction.
  • Nice preview. As stated on a previous thread, my wife is a town fan and will be in with your lot tomorrow. Hope your preiction is correct!!
  • nice one, very easy to read.
  • Good preview from a knowledgeable Huddersfield Town fan. My experience of Huddersfield fans is that they are amongst those fans who still love the football, their heads not turned by the glam, and they stick by their very famous and well respected home town club. They also know that football is a sport, and recognise a proper game of football, a proper contest. The last three home games against Huddersfield have been good old fashioned football matches, played in a good spirit. Huddersfield fans were realistic and commented with fairness after each of them.
Looking forward to another real proper football match between our two clubs tomorrow.

Wasnt it HTFC fans who did that hilarious website for match previews and reports, lots of cartoons etc?
  • That website is still up and running here and it's as amazing as ever: http://www.htfc-world.com/

Decent feedback, I did a similar report for the Brighton match but because I predicted a home win they went a bit mental and started calling it biased, one-sided and rubbish even though I'd put plenty of work into my praise of their team.

The match at your place last year was in all honesty the turning point in our season, we were going nowhere but backwards under Clark who had completely lost the plot and was more concerned with the unbeaten run than trying to get us out of League One. We lost to you lot, then to Bournemouth, then to Sheff Utd not long later which finally made Hoyle make the decision he should have made when we were thumped by Posh in the Playoff final. Grayson was brought in and the job he's done is unbelievable - took some time to find his best eleven but once he did we never looked like losing in the playoffs, and he's rebuilt the squad very well since then.
  • class website
  • Very good preview, obviously done your home work. I'd have money on scanell scoring if he plays though, former palace and all that.
If your coming down have a safe journey mate

The report of your penalty shoot-out in the playoff final on that website is legendary.
  • Fingers crossed the weather plays ball and you don't have a wasted journey south, terrier.
  • A good write up .. good luck for the rest of the season .. EXCEPT when you play us.
  • Well written mate. Thank you.
