The Lisbie Show......

edited March 2007 in General Charlton
As SuperKev has been, more or less, man of the moment since the 94th minute on Saturday, the OS have wasted no time telling us what he can do:

".....Then came the Lisbie show, though; the striker first ending a mazy dribble along the by-line with a cheeky finish and then twisting the Fulham defence inside out before coolly placing his 94th-minute effort past a beleaguered Brooks-Meade."

(Reserves v Fulham, last night).

  • no bloody good in the ressies is it !!!!
  • But you can see why Pards believes he has an exciting prospect.....
  • I lost patience with the bloke (Lisbie that is !) many moons ago, he never was and never will be a consistant premier league player. I wouldn't even have him in our first 11 next season IF we were to go down.....at the end of the day he's a striker and he's woeful.
  • But, Eltham, our one and only SuperKev is a star.....at reserve team level.
  • i'm not knocking the guy no more. He is simply not got the cut for top flight football. Its not his fault, its largely done to those who keep giving him contracts and appearances.

Lisbie should of been encouraged out the door two years ago, when he'd recovered from that bad illness, largely for his own best interests.
  • I didn't mean this thread to be a debate as to whether SuperKev was the Pooches Plums or not.

Only to highlight his dramatic 94th minute burst last night compared with his 94th minute at Watford last Saturday.

Although, the OS reserves report does also highlight the skill and ability he showed scoring those 2 goals; if only he would do that at Premier league level........
  • That's the problem with SuperKev really.

The guy is undeniably talented, Di Canio rated him the most talented player on our books when he was here.

As we all know though he is so inconsistent in showing that talent.

It's obvious the guy has talent by the bucket load - it's just his head goes into a spin when the chance comes to score. If only he had, for example, Darren Bent's mental strength.

Top players need coolness and composure. Sadly poor old SuperKev has everything but that.
  • He made the keeper make a smart save for the first, and snatched at the second chance, but then 8 of the players out there on Saturday would of.

He's a useful squad player, and a pain in the arse for defenders in the last 15 minutes, he run Shittu ragged on Saturday when he came on.

Players miss chances, Benty did on Saturday, and has done before
  • Exactly, Rothko.

So there you have it. He's a useful squad player and a handful for tiring defenders when he comes on. He does everything right - except end product.

    Now what about Dennis.......? (NNNNNNoooooooooo...!)

  • 19 goals in 10 seasons tells us he has no end product.
