Stepping up

Hamer, Solly, Morrison have all stepped up from 3rd tier footie. Cort is already an established Champs player. Button, Wiggins, Taylor and Evina have yet to prove they can make the grade, plus Dervite in his natural defensive position.
In midfield, Stephens and Jacko (both belatedly) Wilson, Pritchard and Kerkar have all done well enough. Greenie is a typical inconsistent winger. Just when you think he will be our star man he goes all anonymous in the next game. Waggy, Harriott await their chance and Hollands seems to have failed the grade. Shame because he played well for us last year.
No doubts about Yann, Fuller or Haynes in Div 2. BWP keeps missing his chances but plays well. Overall Brad has yet to ‘step up.’ Not sure if Smith will get a chance and Cort is another to get the heave ho. Still waiting for Cook to serve up some goals.
Not a bad return on the class of 11/12. About ten have made the grade in my eyes and maybe more to come, especially Wiggy.

    Less assured about jackson and Stephens on a consistency basis and Yann is likely to make the grade but was still coming to terms with the division when he got injured, Like Kerkar but he is one that has to do it more consistently in a game, BWP is truggling in his primary role as goal scorer, but I don't think we play to his strengths.

    Wiggins will make the grade no problems, in fact he will be playing premier league football on a regular basis within 3 years time tops, hopefully with us though.

    Zaha is an exceptional player. Wiggins is not the first and definitely won't be the last player he runs rings around.

    I didn't think he was getting skinned by zaha, zaha was certainly having a go but wasn't turning wiggins inside out.

    Saying that he got hurt not long into the game!

    Wiggins has the attributes to play in the Premiership so certainly doesn't need to prove he is Championship level!!! I'm not going to speculate about it happening because I already know it will! JJ is our top scorer this season!

    Wiggins is top quality, strong defensively and also offers a real threat going forward. Can't wait til he is back and has a few games to get up to speed. I think he will star in the 2nd half of the season and add a lot to the team performances.

    I think we all need to up our game this season , fans included if we are to compete.

    I hate them to death but admire how organised Stoke were tonight in the first half v West Ham at set pieces , no idea how they were 2nd half!

    I think we've got a long way to go on attacking at set pieces and defending them as well.

    Think our delivery from corners and set pieces since the beginning of last season has the best I have ever seen from a Charlton team.

    As far as I'm concerned and as much it is not pleasant to say, stoke are the model to follow if you want to go up, stay up and compete. They were like most other champs teams when they went up.mbig, strong physical side with a couple of quality players in Lawrence and fuller. They then bought a bit more physicality and a touch more quality in when they went up and have continued to do so since

    The season we were in the Championship and played Stoke who got promoted they seemed to have giants in their team , i thought well they won't last in the Premiership , they've got no quality about them , how wrong i was.

    Defending corners has been good then recently poor but having an unsettled defence and some confidence issues hasn't helped. I'm not unduly worried that this will be a major weakness going forwards.

    True the defence has had a lot of change over the last 2 months , hopefully it will settle down now players are playing in the right positions , and as we get players back from injury.

    As much as I hate to say it but Zaha is different class and when he gets he move to the premier league in Jan I'm sure a few more full backs are going to get skint as well.
