Why a dog and a cat?

With other questions being asked on here recently I thought I would ask this one that has been bothering me for quite a while.

Why are our mascots a dog and a cat?
I understand their names but why a dog and a cat?
Wouldn’t it be better to wheel in a fish tank with a haddock in it?

now your talking, man after my own heart, could have a few giant chips to go with it!
  • That would be a corking mascot to have.
  • the dog and cat does come across that someone in the commercial centre knew a bloke that had a couple of mascot suits going cheap.
  • Anyone remember the 2 robins during the Sellout years? Those blokes looked so p***ed off being in the costumes each week.
  • Yes, having a dog and a cat is a bit unoriginal, and has no connection with the club, or it's nicknames

Fleetwood's mascot is Captain Cod, so we could have Addick the Haddock.

Robins don't match our current nickname, but would still tie in with the Red Red Robin.
  • Addick the Haddock

    This all day long
  • Poor floyd and Harvey

They have tried so hard for you to love them now like other poor animals you consign them to battersea

A mascot is for life not just for Xmas
  • Floyd being a "Dog's" name....maybe:
Harvey the "Cat" ? Me neither.

    Haha like it!

  • It's just testimony to the mentality of our fans

The team pick up SCP is safe , Jacko scoring , TJ signing players

So as per the course people can't be happy no they look for something to moan at and something to criticise the club for

Next the fans will be singing the wrong songs for some of them

    Typical Charlton life

  • seriously, I have not seen them together at the same game for ages. The cat, whichever it was, gave my niece a big hug the home game before last and the dog was nowhere in sight. Is this another cut back? Does one person now cover both positions? If they are a man short then surely Nathan can step up to the plate.

Why? is Nathan looking for work then?

Why? is Nathan looking for work then?

Is there an oxymoron somewhere in there?

    ;o)

  • Valiant the Sword(fish)
  • Is there a standing joke concerning Nathan...is he the CL whipping boy?
  • If we go down the Haddock mascot route, perhaps the Cat and Dog could be employed as the commentary team on CAFC player....

Can't work out if this is an ironic joke (I.e you being the only one on here moaning) or whether you are serious.
  • Isn't one of them supposed to be female too because Floyd and Harvey sound like male names

I think it's fairly obvious he was being ironic mate.
