Danny Seaborne signs?

Sky are reporting that Southampton defender Dan Seaborne has signed for Charlton on loan. Does not mention loan length but does say he's in the squad for Sunday's trip to Bristol City.

    Love the lazy reporting.

Apparently we have "struggled defensively this season"?

Before the Middlesbrough game didn't we have something like the 7th or 8th best defence in the division despite being in the bottom 6 pretty much the whole season?
  • Were just a team full of Danny's
  • I think he is more of a left footed central defender who can play left back.

Clearly needed for the squad over the next couple of months.

Left sided centre back, can also play LB, ex Exeter – wasn’t up to it in Championship, drops rickets.

Fourth in pecking order at Saints, but they’ve been trying to get rid of him for a while

  • How tall is this Seagull fella?

If that does have some credence,. I'm sure SCP will knock him into shape and get the best out of him.

    IN SCP we trust

Good job our manager was a left back who played for England then , i'm sure he can improve him.

We'll have him at the back of the midfield in no time then!

Wish the lad well; no doubt he also comes with a personal recommendation from his old mucker at Exeter - Matt Taylor.

    I'm devastated.....

    Fickle supporters !

  • if he's a LB then surely he starts at Bristol City Sunday, Solly back to RB, Morro and Cort in the middle and Dervite as the holding midfielder

  • How tall is this Seagull fella?

    6ft 3 I think, so a whole foot taller than Solly :-)

Did the club shop over order the letters D A N and Y, so Powell is forced to sign Dannys?

  • How tall is this Seagull fella?

Not sure. But this seagull fella has slipped down the pecking order at saints

  • Pleased with that, should be a good replacement for Wiggins & Evina whilst they continue there recovery.
  • The under investment that our board are making in this squad is unbelievable. First they spend loads of money in league one and tell us they are building a squad that can compete in the championship. Then they actually let that team play in the championship. And then worst of all when some of that squad gets injured they bring in short term replacement.

I will be writing to Slater this monring to tell him how disgusted I am.

Good idea. I might add Dennis Wise in as well, just for good measure.
  • From my Saints mate. "He is useless. If he can't get into the Saints defence at the moment it sums him up really."
  • Soton certainly don't seem keen on him but hopefully SCP thinks he can get something out of the player, preferably at LB.
  • We need a LB so we can start puttnig round pegs in round round holes, gotta be good news
  • Exactly, if signing him means Solly can play right back, Morrison centre back, Kerkar left wing (and Dervite in midfield which seems a better position than centre back from Tuesday's performance) and Wilson right wing when he is fit, then that is already a big plus, even if he is distinctly average himself.
  • From my Saints supporting mate: "Unlucky! He's slow and League One standard at best!"
  • I suppose if he's distinctly average though we could've just done that with Morgan Fox and maybe saved some money. Though I remember last season Scunthorpe fans saying how useless Hughes was and he did alright so hopefully he'll do a job.
