STATBANK - Charlton 5-4 Cardiff plus the PROMORELEGATOR

Thank you to the 79 Lifiers who gave marks, this was a very enjoyable set of numbers to sort.

One thing - the BBC states that we had 13 shots on target but the Football League stats, where I get the individual figures from, makes it 12, so 12 it is. I'm told that the BBC and the FL both get their stats from the Press Association?

Here they are: https://us.v-cdn.net/5000498/uploads/FileUpload/a6/ff0893dfd255092c46d6d4bfd8f13a.pdf

  • Only 2 out of the last 12 sides to be relegated from the championship have had more points than us at this point in the season and still gone down. So early on still but I’ll try take comfort from that slightly contrived statistic.

    Nice one LL.
  • Reading had only 18 points at this stage last season ... one more than us ... I'll take comfort from that :-)
  • Yes, maybe Tuesday was a sign that our luck has turned - let's worry about how many points we need for the play offs rather than relegation.
  • Fascinating stuff as always.

I wonder when Hamer previously was the lowest ranked player. Sheff Utd at home last season?

It's a misleading stat, but Jackson the 18th rated player over the season is also the clear top scorer...
  • Cheers LL, its nice to see how well the midfield did for a change.
  • When was the last time our attacking plyers and midfield scored higher than our defence.

I should think it's never happened.

    1970s?
  • also, we have only scored 1 goal in the first 15 mins and 1 in the last 15 mins................so good news for all the latecomers and early leavers and I wonder if we could buy a season ticket for just the middle hour ???
  • 59% v 41% possession against a team that was top of the league.

Not surprising given the scoreline, but that's a phenomenal difference between defence and the rest.
