Bartrams

edited October 2012 in General Charlton
Sorry if this is elsewhere, but I couldn't see the answer on the OS.

Can U18s go into Bartrams on a match day? We have family coming to the game on Saturday and just wanted to check we can meet in there beforehand.

  • I don't like it in there, too cramped and absolutley crap service at the bar with a crap choice of drink too
  • Can anyone go in there or do you have to be member?
  • Anyone can go in but it sometimes gets full so could be a wait outside?
  • Thanks badger

I take my two young boys into Bartrams before a game but it's not a great place for kids ( or adults). I would join crossbars if the club didn't want to charge my 6 & 9 year olds £75 each a year to join ! £26 more then their season tickets.
  • I would get there early @craigcafc as it gets ridiculously busy. Like a few others have said, kids are allowed, but it's not ideal for them.
  • Thanks for the help guys. I know its not the greatest place to go, but with a grandfather who's mobility isn't the best, then the location is the main selling point. We're going to get there nice and early to bag a table and get the beers in before the rest arrive!!

Lucky he didn't ask about the drink options or your opinion.

    I like it.

Sounds like every single pub in Charlton then.
  • I always thought Bartrams was season ticket only.

When did it change or am I simply wrong?
  • Don't recall it being ST only Len. First come first in as long as I remember (note I don't say "first served"!)

  • I seem to recall that as well Len, but certainly been first come first in in recent seasons. Maybe it was during the Prem days?

In recent years I'd say that Bart's has moved out in front of the dreadful service league. Shame because it's a nice bar and obviously very handy, but I'd say the Rose or Anchor have a more efficient pint->belly pace.
  • For convenience as being a West Upper season ticket holder, Bartrams is okay for a quick one before kick-off.
