born 1980 and can't argue with this! Steve Brown, Johnny Robinson, Dean Kiely, Darren Bent and Keith Peacock could also make the list

  • 1.Keith Peacock- Agree with Olly, clubs greatest servant.Even though I thought he was going to kill me once!

2.Alan Curbishley- Mans a God .End of.

3.Clive Mendonca- Wembley and all that!

4.John Robinson- Just for sheer effort for the cause!

5.Charlie Revell- Poor man missed out in 47 and had the impossible task of teaching me to play football at school!
  • Born in '82

    1. Powell
    2. Rufus (nearly made top spot). Curbs has obviously done more for the club but I love Rufus.
    3. Curbs
    4. Mendonca. The 97/98 season spent in the F Block singing "Super Clive" was the best.
    5. Steve Brown. I remember him being sent off, socks down, muddied shirt, and he just ignored the North stand who were singing his name. Not rude, just cool. Ha ha

  • Killer - my favourite player, provided so much excitement ... and lots of goals

Clive Mendonca - for the greatest final ever

Chris Powell - as a player and a manager, he epitomises Charlton for me

Johnny Robinson - never been a more committed player in a Charlton shirt

Alan Curbishley - he got us our dream of regular top-flight football ... and when you have been following since the 60's, that means a lot

No doubt that I could justify a couple of changes to that list, but happy with it as it is ... for now ;-)

Bartram, Seed and Welsh are clearly legends but before my time. As were the later Firmanui and Summers. In no particular order - since seriously following us in 1975 - I'd say: 1) Rufus - My all time favourite player - best defender never to have played for England 2) Hales - Killer was my childhood hero and the most natural striker you could care to find 3) Powell - For his England Cap, performances and management 4) SuperClive - Wembley and his other goals and finally 5)Alan Curbishley for being such a great manager for us.
  • Ralph Milne, Marcus Bent, Simon Francis, Amdy Faye, Alan Pardew

Pardew was a very good player for us. Not a legend but very good all the same.

  • Killer Hales
    Rob Lee
    Supa Clive Mendonca
    Andy Hunt
    Mark Kinsella

Reserves-Curbishley, Bob Curtiss, Bolder, Deano, Melrose, Flanagan, Colin Powell, Shirtliffe, Melrose, Lennie Lawrence, Chrissy P, Gary Nelson, Johny Robinson, Humphrey, Mark Reid, Paul Williams, Santa Claus, Rufus

    Been a fan since 80/81 season, so for me it's;

    1. Derek Hales
    2. Robert Lee
    3. Peter Shirtliff
    4. Clive Mendonca
    5. Alan Curbishley

    (Chris Powell first reserve!)

FTR - Claus Jensen & Jim Melrose are favourite past players of mine, however I wouldn't class them as club legends.
  • Most of the above plus 5 that haven't been mentioned :
    Eddie Firmani
    Matt Tees
    Harry Gregory
    Billy Bonds
    Airman Brown
