Shoe Repairs

OK I've got a pair of shoes that I am quite partial to. They need new soles and heels unfortunately.
Thinking of going DIY as repair prices are crazy. I don't want to pay more than it costs to buy a decent pair of new shoes. Actually I don't want to pay much at all.

Any suggestions in the Lewisham local?
Or DIY tips.

There's a Tipton in Lewisham high street.

Avoid it, the heel part of the repair has fallen off!

Visit www.google.co.uk and in the blank bit type "shoe repairs lewisham"

If that doesn't work go back to www.google.co.uk and type in "diy shoe repairs"

A tad harsh considering most threads posted here.
Don't you get shoes repaired or are you minted?

surely depends how worn they are?!

had a pair of lovely russell & bromleys that were bought for me, heel was worn down one side where i walk like a geezer/mong. had them re-heeled, nothing wrong with that.

if they are completely worn down and the soles have holes, then you need to buy new shoes. bit trampy if not.

I used to be a cobbler too Rob! Worked with Ted in Welling next door to Wimpy on Upper Wickham Lane! Tough and that, and Ted is as hard as nails, Charlton fan as well. Mad old game that, he did ok, hope he still does. Went from that straight into the rotten old print. Someone on here must know him.

Did he sell it to someone called Terry

I have rather expensive pair of boots. These don't need soleling or heeling. The stitching at the side of one of them has come apart. Do modern cobblers do repairs like that or is it just soleling and heeling they deal with and my favourite boots are destinined for the dustbin. Any advice?
