  • When we split the jimmy seed why is it we always have to have a massive cover which looks like its taking up a couple hundred of seats?

Seems a shame if people can't get tickets in the end because the stadium can't have its maximum capacity.
Just look at Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs etc on MOTD, they only seem to have a line of stewards between the fans.

my thoughts exactly, i dont know if they make money from the advertising or what but surely having more fans in there would be more beneficial, i remember back in 2000 when we were segregating that stand and in the premier league it was just a line of stewards

  • We're trying to attract new decent fans. I don't think they would be rushing back if there was a lot of fighting, especially if they were caught up in it.

200 seats @ £5 = £1,000, which is nothing compared to the adverse reaction it may cause.
  • At the last one that they did, I saw a kid walking about in a Millwall shirt. I couldn't believe my eyes. Chelsea, Arsenal shirts everywhere. I understand the idea behind it, but it would be interesting to know how many do actually come back.

  • For a fiver, it will be a disgrace if it doesn't sell out. What better way can you spend a fiver?

depends if you support charlton or barnsley.

  • Times like this we all miss the Airman.

not sure if i'll be going to this. great for the club selling the valley out (well, close to). The last time was a crap experience with tourists (national and international) around me pissing me off, I'm not very tolerant to that kind of thing. Nearly got in a fight with a Spanish guy because he couldn’t understand he was in the wrong seat.

Then of course letting your kids wander round with all types of football shirts. go to ebbsfleet every now and then, and there is always people wearing spurs, Chelsea etc shirts, just find it disrespectful, they must have other clothes to put on.
  • My mum, Nan and my little cousin is going.

  • 21500 sold as of Friday according to os
  • I'm 'taking' six heavy drinking gas board blokes

I say taking because I won't be anywhere near the game but I got tickets for six of my mates to go on the lash and get back into charlton, a couple of em suffer from wanting to go but not necessarily having anyone to go with. A common problem for charlton fans in Medway.

My season is going to another pal who will keep ketman and wss warm and hopefully not fall asleep this time
  • Ordered four tickets today for a mate and his three sons. None of them have ever been before, so hopefully they'll like it and come back.
  • Just posted on another thread but will repeat some of it.For some reason those of us who only go occasionally now get dogs abuse from season ticket holders and other regulars when we help fill the valley at these games.I think they are important to reignite the interest in those of us who only go from time to time.Nothing I like better than being in a full valley seeing charlton win .It gets me back in the routine of going again so I think it is a great idea. Also I bring "fringe" supporters who usually are amazed at the passion of a "small" club.

Out of interest @timken, what form does this "dogs abuse" take - is it on places like this or actually at the ground? Am genuinely interested.
  • feisty one you are
  • @timken as stated by others on the other thread, not heard of any abuse for the occasional visitors.s an aside, my Arsenal supporting postman told me he had his tickets for the game.
  • I know of one person using Football for a Fiver as an excuse for a date, not going to tell you its my son as that would be unfair
  • 22,850 sold so far
