Priceless, Priceless Point - Player Ratings

edited March 2007 in General Charlton
OK not what we hoped for cooming into this game, but the morale boost that this marvellous comeback is worth cannot be underestimated.

Three of our next Four games are at home against beatable opposition.

My Ratings - from watching it on a credit card sized screen

Carson 6 - not much he could do about the goals, not really tested otherwise
Young 7 - vital goal & battled hard throughout
Sankofa 5 - playing out of position had a shakey, nervous 90 minutes
Borat 5 - woeful & abject at times - although one vital block in the 2nd kept us in it
Fortune 5 - out of his depth as per, tried hard though but definitely more suited to Stoke
Song 9 - this boy is a revelation, a ball winner who can pass - halleluljah
Holland 7 - drove us forward & never gave up although often out muscled
Thomas 6 - quiet but looked dangerous when he got the ball
Ambrose 6 - redeemed himself with the goal otherwise quiet
D Bent 8 - a constant threat & unlucky not to score
Hasselbaink 3 - piss poor first half, looked like he was trying but was rubbish

ZZ 7 - bright & energetic, gave their defence the run around at times
Romm 7 - magic cross, he comes into his own between minutes 87 & 90
Lisbie 0 - fuck off Lisbie

    You ARE deluded.
  • 0 for Lisbie, G

    Did he play that well.

LOL You don't like him mate do you.
  • Agreed. Considering we had so many changes at the back.

We have an easier run in than anyone
  • ha ha - perhaps i am being harsh

it wasn't an absolute sitter, but he should have done better

as i say 3 of the next 4 are at home against Wigan, Newcastle & Reading with Man City away in between

it certainly ain't over - although if we had lost today i wouldn't be so upbeat
  • So for the benefit of those of us not watching, do I gather Romm put in a good cross?
  • yes - it was a beauty

he should have been on 10 minutes earlier in my opinion (although i was talking about taking Ambrose off - so what do i know)
  • I know it's not the done thing to say a word out of turn re Pards, but I agree that he is often a bit too late making substitutions - if they are going to have any real impact they need 20-30 mins on the pitch: whoever it is.
  • We should be used to that though, Weegie. I mean how many of Lisbie's appearances were actually 4 minutes at the end of the game?
  • Oakster and I were talking about Romm, not the boy wonder...he should be used to that by now, yes.

Oh, I dunno. After watching JF Piggy Bank huff & Puff without hardly moving, at the start of the 2nd half he didn't waste any time putting ZZ on..... *smiley winky thing*

Although, looking back, apart from a couple of surprises last season, Curbs was invariably late making substitions.

So we should be used to it.

Damn I knew I shouldn't have used Lisbie to illustrate the point. I just mean that generally Curbs was very fond of the 80th or 85th minute substitution.
  • Disagree entirely re Pards and substitutions.
I think that unlike Curbs, if someone isn't performing he hauls them off.
As commented above JFH was crap on Saturday and didn't come out for the second half being replaced by ZZ.
  • There's something I really like about ZZ......skill, great movement and sheer bloody enthusiasm.......Hasselwank, are you listening??????
