It was at the valley when we played them in 2003 and beat them 3-2. The only time Lisbie looked decent.

  • yeah agreed was only time he's looked decent, he's volley or half volley when it came over he's opposite shoulder was simply sublime!!
  • His winner at the Bridge 7-8 seasons ago wasn't bad.

But- totally agree that he isn't good/ consistant enough
  • He was very good in training according to Pards - who thought he was going to score.

Problem was he took too long getting it onto his right foot.
  • The fundemental problem with him is that if he has to think about it he panics,

I remember him missing a sitter ( in an almost kanuesque style) against Liverpool in the (league?) cup about 9-10 seasons ago- couldn't believe it even then.
  • yeah he should have played 1 touch or hit it first time across the goal, oh well mayb the fact he's not played in almost ten years at the club he's lackin match sharpness and confidence, was slatin him alot yest but to b honest as soon as it feel to him think we all realised he was never gonna put that away, did make some good runs thou and did look fairly compitant, mayb that was it he'd fooled me in2 believin he's a diff player now, its not he's fault he's shit and not good enough for prem/fizzy pop mayb league 1 or 2 he'd b a good back up player
  • He's always been a 'wunderkind' in training, which is why he's been at the club so long.
SuperKev has plenty of ability - what he doesn't have is composure and confidence.

If he's instinctive, he'll do the right thing.
If he has time to think about it.....then he'll fck up.
  • He was unlucky with that overhead kick that Gallas palmed away against Arsenal earlier in the season too. His other big problem is that just when he looks like he might be developing something approaching form or confidence, he gets injured again.
  • Some players have what you could call a "football brain". The ability to think quickly & act decisively in the blink of an eye - these are the players who always seem to have acres of time when they are on the ball - Alex Song for example has this, he never seems flustered & is able to calmly control & pass.

Poor old Kev has never possessed even the remotest inkling of a "football brain", his only real attribute is pace. He certainly cannot finish - although odd flukes such as the Liverpool hatrick & a brilliant goal at Ipswich a while back, prove that if you give a monkey a typewriter & teach it to randomnly bang on the keys it will eventually type out the complete works of Shakespeare.
  • I remember Frisbee when he first got into the team. Specifically, I remember his first Valley goal (against Oxford, I think it was). We were either 1-0 or 2-1 up in injury time and he was put clean through. It still took him about five seconds to size up where he was going to put it, (the Oxford back four were still trundling back from a foray upfield). Right at that moment (I kid you not) I thought "This kid couldn't finish a nice steak dinner". Course, he went on to prove me wrong by planting his shot in the bottom left-hand corner, but I think he's proved me right overall in the past ten years. In seven games out of eight he looks absolutely fucking useless, in the other one, he looks a great player. Most frustrating CAFC player ever IMHO.
  • Striking is about confidence to a large degree.

Lis has had so little football he didn't have the confidence to use his left foot for the first shot. Had he done (like Thomas, another right footed player did last week) he might have scored.

I think he is best used as a wide player.
