Hamer 8 good hands good saves early in the game no chance with their goal
Wilson 6 still shaky for me obviously prefer Solly but did link up well at times with Green
Morrison 8 nothing got past him and Cort
    Cort as above
Solly 7 only because he is not naturally left sided but put in another solid shift
    Green 8 a constant threat
Jackson 9 worked his knackers off as if he wanted to consolidate this position for himself, blocked, tackled distributed well and scored
Stephens 7 steady some 'blind' passes today
Kerkar 7 solid gave us a good outlet on the left, good first touch needs games for confidence
Fuller 9 different gravy sublime passing and movement and a excellent individual goal
Wright Phillips 7.5 worked very hard again unlucky not to score

Get a left back in on loan get Solly back to his usual berth and SCP has fallen on an excellent set up. Kermogant to return too

    Kerkar - 7.5
    Fuller - 9
    Wright Phillips - 7
  • Hamer - 8 - good solid game, not at fault for their goal
Wilson - 7 - a better game, linked up with green well
    Morrison - 8.5 - Solid
Cort - 8.5 - monstrous at the back
Solly - 7.5 - had a good game on his unnatural side
    Green - 8 - looked a constant threat
Jackson - 8 - wanted the ball played some nice football
Stephens - 8 - worked hard, chased down a lot, a few misplaced passes but it's to be expected when he's the playmaker
Kerkar - 7.5 - good first start for him, not scared to take on his marker
Fuller - 9b- different class, can't believe how strong he is
Wright-Phillips - 6 - his performance was way below his usual standards
  • Hamer - 8 Looked solid, not a hope for the deflected goal.
Wilson - 7 He is growing in stature.
Morrison - 8 As solid as ever at the back and when it's backs against the wall, he's right in the mix.
Cort - 9 For me, this fella just gets stronger and stronger. A colossus.
Solly - 7.5 Out of position but still give it his all. Got sucked in at times and the left was exposed, but hardly his fault. Great heading ability for a small un.
Green - 8 Looked a constant threat and worked hard.
Jackson - 8 Quiet first half but after scoring really got into it. Is this his new position? If so, what about Hollands?
Stephens - 8 Again, a much better second half. Does at times look composed and a class act, although missed a sitter to make it 1-3 and calm the nerves.
Kerkar - 7.5 Really seems unorthodox to me and like he is running in treacle! However, did little wrong and puts a good cross in.
Fuller - 9 Different class at times; Kermogant may struggle to remain first choice in that role.
Wright Phillips - 7.5 Worked hard and the understanding with Fuller will improve. Does switch off at times though.

Second away game for me, the first was at Brum. I guess I have been fortunate because that's two decent away trips that I have had!

Ipswich supporters must be worried, s we must have been the worst team they have seen this season, overall are play was littered with too many school boy errors, the notable exceptions being Fuller and Wright-Phillips.

  • Hamer 8: Looking much more solid this season
Wilson 6: Slowly improving as he gains confidence
Morrison 8: A class act; he is solid and confident on the ball
    Cort 8: Another class act
Solly 7: Still puts in a good shift, even on the other side
Green 7: I always thought he would be out of his depth at this level, but he is proving me wrong
Jackson 7: Looks so much better in the centre of midfield, after his poor start to the season on the left
Stephens 7: Strokes the ball around nicely - starting to remind me of Gerrard!
Kerkar 7: Looked threatening at times and full of energy
    Fuller 9: An awesome display
Wright Phillips 7: Alternates between brilliant and crass - most frustating!

Out of interest (I will assume you were there) why the 5's for Morrison and Cort? They were a lot better than that, and Green was also not a five. Either you are a low scorer (what did you give Wilson for the Palace game?), a WUM or had your eyes closed all game. On the last comment, I was having a beer with a couple of mates and our designated driver for the day and a few Ipswich fans commented the complete opposite, that Charlton played well and took the game to Ipswich as most other teams have defended and hit on the break. They also said they have played like that all season (had many shots, but not really looked like scoring from them), so like I thought not the best performance form Charlton but decent. Try to be a bit more positive, it was a win.
  • Hamer 7 - not a lot to do but looking more solid and confident
Wilson 7 - shaky start against Martin but grew in confidence as game went - looked to link up with Green and midfield
Morrison 8 - back to his best
Cort 7 - Usual solid performance
Solly 7 - Didn't do much wrong but is still adapting to playing on the left and not the force that he is normally on right
Green 7 - Improving his all round game - looking more consistent than last season
Jackson 7.5 - Thought the game passed him by a bit in first half but was great in the second
Stephens 7.5 - Good interceptions and passing - very positive performance looks like he's back to the form he showed early last season
Kerkar 7 - Gave us balance on the left - faded in and out a bit
Fuller 8 - Gives us a bit extra up front with his strength and running
Wright Phillips 7 - Usual busy performance - few clear cut chances

Overall as I've said elsewhere I felt that we rode our luck a little early on when we didn't stay tight enough and allowed them a few too many shots on goal - a better side may have punished us. However we came out of the blocks and played for 90 minutes (unlike the last 2 games) - we also looked positive and creative when we were able to stop the midfield head tennis and get the ball on the deck and Stephens and Jackson had the time to pick out the passes

  • Hamer 7 quick off his line on one occasion
Wilson 7 improving - linked well with Green
    Morrison 7.5 solid
    Cort 7.5 very solid
Solly 7 excellent out of position
Green 6.5 no 35 yard goals
Jackson 6.5 much better in the middle
Stephens 5 some good passes but caught out too often
Kerkar 6.5 nothing exceptional but gave more balance
Fuller 8 sometimes looks cumbersome but is so strong
Wright Phillips 5 touch not good enough and lightweight for this level

Blimey, I must have been at a parallel universe Portman Road!! Cort 5??, Wilson 4??, Morrison 5??, Jackson 5?? I think your expectation levels are far too high my friend!! To give Cort a 5 is an insult, for example.

  • Stephens deserves greater credit. Take him out and we'd have been no better than Ipswich. Yes, he'll misplace a pass or two over 90 minutes, but he sees opportunities that no-one else does.
  • Hamer 7.5
    Wilson 6.5
Morrison 8.5 immense at the back

    Green 6.5
    Jackson 7
    Stephens 7.5
    Kerkar 7
Fuller 8.5 class AND worked really hard
    Wright Phillips 6.5
