next 2 games

edited September 2012 in General Charlton
are critical IMHO. Both are against teams who are around us and both have the same no.of points as us. Both games are winable, albeit they are away from home , but they were the only teams in our league that didn't score today. Anything less than 3 points would see us in the bottom 3 ............then comes a home game v Blackburn, who just happened to score 5 today away from home !!

  • Could do with at least four I think seeing as we have Blackburn and Blackpool coming up

need more width and more patience on the ball if were going to get anything, and for that we need a change of formation, honestly don't see any of those three coming though I am afraid.
  • Will be lucky to get a point
  • Really could do with three or four but realistically it's going to be 0 or 1
  • They are big games - we need to get points on the board before we get in a run that drains confidence and puts us in the relegation places.
I doubt very much that CP will make big changes though for these 2 games unless we get caned.
I expect to see Ceddy brought in but only on the bench as I suspect CP to continue with Solly covering for Wiggins.
Better start getting behind Wilson because I think he's in for the forseeable.
Green may get the nod over Pritch but I think CP will keep him on the bench.
Fuller also to stay on the bench for now.
Not saying I agree with the above but I think that's what CP will go with - he won't want to write off his players so early in the season.
If the next 2 go pear shaped his hand may be forced

Blackburn scored both their winning goals within 7 minutes time added on (93rd and 96th minutes).

And that was after going 3-2 up in the 81st minute.
They still conceded an equaliser in the 83rd minute.

But 5-3 away is nevertheless an impressive scoreline.
It tells that Blackburn play to the final whistle. But they still conceded 3 goals.

I wouldn't mind betting that Bristol City, after the exhilaration of equalising, threw everything forward trying to get the winner - and got caught on the break, not once but twice.
  • I'm sure Evina will start, it would be a massive smack in the face for the reserve LB to be overlooked.

2 crucial games though, at the least we can't afford to lose either.
  • ..... a point at Derby, nothing against Ipswich or Blackburn
  • Powell needs to get his selections right. Kerkar, Haynes if fit and Fuller must all start. We need more pace, more aggression and perhaps more LUCK
  • Maybe Haynes and Fuller first need more fitness?

Get em in, get the goals, wear em out then get em orf !! .. match fitness comes thru playing matches .. 'unfit' players shoud start and then be replaced, not the other way round

We will certainly know a lot more after the next two. Two pretty poor performances should either galvanise the boys to show what they can do in which case we will be alright or another couple of iffy games and we could see a storm brewing. I have no ideas as to which way the mop will flop although our midfield as is will fold again.
  • I agree the next two games could shape our season and both are potentially winnable.

Are both Cook and Haynes injured ?I thought it strange that Smith was on the bench last night and feel it was a shame we lost Wiggins so early because it meant we could not bring Kerkar on as a third sub near the end.

On Tuesday I would start Green and Kerkar dropping Pritchard and Jacko .
  • if we lose our next two games, will it be panic stations? both winable games but derby and ipswich will be seein us as must win games.
