Interesting observation on the BBC Sport website....

Apparently defeat tomorrow would make it the Addicks' worst start to a league season in six years.

Hopefully that won't happen.

  • Still better than those giants Liverpool
  • It's a marathon not a sprint.
  • Who's thinking defeat ?
  • We won't lose
  • lies, damned lies .. and statistics
  • A defeat? Never!!!! It can't happen....
  • Statistically that might be the case but certainly not something to read into.
  • shows what a few seasons down in league 1 can do to you expectations. i thought five points so far was quite a good haul.
still, survival is the main aim.
  • So far we've averaged 1.25 points/game. If we keep that up, at the end of the season we would have 57.5 points. Last year, that would have been 16th place, just ahead of Millwall and Palace. More importantly, it would put us 17.5 points clear of relegation. I would take that!

I'm not a doom and gloom type, but we need to be realistic. We have just been promoted after 3 years in a lower division, and a mid-table finish would be more than respectable IMHO. Sadly, I think Norwich and Southampton have created unrealistic expectations by managing back-to-back promotions - this is clearly the exception rather than the rule.
  • Win tonight and we have had a fantastic start to the season IMO, im personally delighted we have 5 points from the 4 teams we have played so far, especially considering we were 15 seconds away from having 7.
