  • Showed the game in my cafe in Bellac, just north of Limoges, sorry I did not see your request earlier but if anyone is ever in this region call in as it would be good to make contact with some real Charlton supporters after being here for 6 years now.

Next time you're over and if you're near Brive/Limoges, give me a shout. Goes for any of you, open house at mine! Hey, another Limousin based Addick, we are in Haute Vienne.

    ; )

    Whereabouts pal?
Cussac, in the Perigord national park, where are you ?
Was talking about Cussac the other day, my pal plays rugby for Treignac and he had a game up that way somewhere.

I'm down in the Correze mate, just bought a place just outside Uzerche (Junction 44, A20), but currently live near to Arnac-Pompadour.

Lives in a park and feeds off the bins... Smelly tramp...
  • true Plumpo----eats anything he can shoot----crows , pigeons , squirrels, badgers, the odd tourist, washed down with a few dozen hornets. The locals love him though the semi tame mad English terminator.
  • Edited, as the comments took a bizarre turn for the worse. @plumpo, you've got mail.
  • Can I just ask how you guys found the change in the lifestyles was thinking of doing it a couple of years ago but never had the bottle to move countries never know might decide to do it one day any advice would be appreciated.
  • I found it quite easy mate. Once you build a bit of confidence up with the language things seem to fall into place. There are plenty of things that I miss about living in SE London/Kent, but I think the trick is to get the best of both. Also, I never wanted to think in 10 years time "what if I had moved the France?" so I just picked a date out and 6 weeks later I was driving through France. It's certainly not for everyone, but I love it!
  • Tres bon Rob. One question tho, is there a Mrs Rob or is it something a single bloke does? Nuff respect for you doing it but not sure I could convince my good lady to make such a gamble.

Mrs Rob runs a hairdressers in Lewes at the moment, but is in the process of moving her clients onto the other girls in her salon in order to come out here full time around May 2013. At the moment she spends about 2 in every 6 weeks out here, with me coming back to the UK about 4 times a year which seems to work okay short term.
  • Sounds like you've got it all sorted. Not sure Mrs AUN would have that for me, was an idiot a few years ago and I haven't had a night apart from her since. Will have to move together cos we've both had enough of the UK at the moment.

I work for myself mate in pest control and wildlife management, the first year was better than all expectations, but this year has been tuff because of the weird weather we've been having. I'm also a registered kitchen fitter and dry liner so I can advertise for work in these trades too. It's hard as itis in UK, but work is there if you're reliable and willing to travel....

    No probs mate, good luck!

??????????????????????????????????????, yep, I've definitely got to you, your posts are becoming more and more child like, never mind Clive I'm sure you will mature into a proper adult at some point.
  • Been here for 6 years now with the family and never looked back (apart from missing games at the Valley). Decide to do it, it is a better lifestyle and a better place to live. Don't be fooled, like anywhere else it is tough to integrate and settle and the cost of living is quite high at the moment but go for it.
  • Where abouts are you steve the main thing that would concern me would be getting enough work

Can i ask, as something who has 'escaped' previously but had to come back, what was the attraction of France? - i always thought France was full of French (if you know what i mean), and it all sounds as if you all live in the sticks in France - whats so good about it that is better than SE London and Kent? -hmmm, maybe i know i can answer my own question here, but interesting to find out .
Whilst understanding people's disenchantment of UK, i would have thought that first choice would have been Spain, not France.?
