This story also reflects well on Pards and Parky. I have always been marginal about Thomas because he was such a patchy player. The jury is still out for me but if he continues with his form of last Saturday, I'll be the first to admit I was wrong about him.

That was the problem, I can see why Reed wanted to ship Thomas out and had it happened in January I don't think there'd have been too many complaints, and I can't recall that many people opposing it when it was brought up as a rumour. One match doesn't make a season but it does demonstrate that Pardew is having a great influence in the changing room, what was it that Eggert said about his influence in the West Ham squad...
