Cort injured?

Wyn Grant is reporting on his blog that Cort is injured.

Don't if it's true or not but if it is it will leave us short at the back.

Has anybody else heard this?

  • With Taylor also out, this would leave us very short of options. The only replacements being Mambo & devite. Neither are ready/good enough at the moment................................
  • what makes you think neither of them can step up for a couple of games if required?
  • Mambo wouldn't be ready or good enough. Nobody knows about Dervite as we haven't seen him play a competitive game yet.
  • I agree about Mambo but Devite is 24 now so I expect CP bought him incase we did get a couple of injuries to our CB's. Not sure why TF doesnt think he is ready or good enough
  • Thought Devite was carrying an injury a week or two ago? If not then I'd have him in, don't think I'm ready to put my faith in Mambo yet, haven't been that impressed. Would like to see him on loan in L2/L1 for a run of games before throwing him in a derby game.
  • If he really is injured then I would expect a 1 month emergency loan to come in
  • SCP's ex West Ham team mate Elliot Ward did not make the Norwich 25 man squad . Played a lot at this level , possible option ?
  • I'd lob Mambo in - it's only Palace and could be a chance he takes.

Not good enough was reference to Mambo, not ready was reference to Dervite. As said he's been out injured recently and probably short of match sharpness. Don't have a clue as to whether he's good enough or not, as I haven't seen him play......................

  • If Cort and Taylor are both injured, we will get someone in on loan

I think that might be an option we'll take too.
  • As it's Palace, where's Jon Fortune...
  • ....captain of Barnet but injured again.

If Cort is not fit and Taylor is also out then bring in Mambo with Dervite on the bench. It's time to find out if Mambo can make the step up - (he seems to have been on the fringes for ever) - before the season is at a critical juncture and against a team in Palace which is not the strongest. Why pay Mambo and Dervite good money then supercede them with a loanee ? Put Mambo in, see what he can do
  • Could be a disaster or the making of him. I'd like him given a chance in a game where he won't be put under too much pressure from forwards, but where it is also a big game for fans- which if he comes through it will give him a massive confidence boost.
  • Dervite has 4 more years experience than Mambo so I would go for him with Mambo on the bench

    Agree with that, Muttley.

Rather see him come off the bench with 20mins or so to go in a game we're bossing. To start him against Palace would put tremendous pressure on the lad IMHO .

And saying that CP are not the strongest of sides is surely underestimating the opposition which I'm sure SIR Chris Powell will not do.
  • Mambo is way down the pecking order (bottom I'd suspect). Definitely would have Dervite in ahead of him based on experience alone.
  • Championship is not a proving ground, if CP thinks he is ready all well and good, but I suspect not, plus against Palace if he made one mistake the crowd would be on his back forever. At best have him on the bench. Not quite sure how he keeps getting these one year contracts.
  • I'm surprised Mambo is still here. He's had a few loan spells where he hasn't done too much. If Cort is out I'd expect a loan in

  • Play Mambo in a South London derby against Palace, are you mad.I have seen Mambo since he was 16 and he isn't good enough for the Championship.I am really surprised he is still here, but Powell obviously sees something in him.Loan signing or Dervite for me.

I posted earlier about Elliott Ward ,his proposed loan to Bristol City has fallen through according to Sky .

Maybe a late bid from us ?

Sky Sports understands Bristol City have seen a move for Norwich defender Elliott Ward fall through.

Robins boss Derek McInnes is in the market for a new central defender and had made made Ward his top target.

Bristol City initially tried to sign Ward before the transfer window closed last month, but were unable to finalise a deal.

The Championship outfit then tried to bring in Ward on loan following the opening of the loan window, but the move has again collapsed after both parties failed to agree personal terms.

Ward has spent the last two years with Norwich and was a regular member of their starting XI towards the end of last season, but he has yet to feature this term.

A number of clubs are thought to be monitoring Ward's situation at Carrow Road with several Championship sides keen to bring in the former West Ham and Coventry man on a loan basis.

    .
  • Can anyone of our other players cover at CB? I'm not aware if any of our FBs can play CB as well (height?) and have any of our midfielders played at CB before?

Dont think any of our other players could tbh.

  • We shouldn't be taking a chance with untried players no matter who the opposition is imo, bring in an experienced CB..............which is something I was hoping for on a permanent basis before the window closed
  • Dervite is not injured, just question marks over match fitness. He is a good player and IMO will end up as Morrisions regular partner by the end of the season so throw him in. Issue is we would have very limited cover on the bench if either struggled.

That would be a great move.

He's a top lad Elliott and a excellent defender. Was unfortunate with an injury before the season started for Norwich last season as he had been excellent in the Championship.

  • Injured or "injured" cos it is international week and CP doesn't want him flying across the atlantic?

Do Guyana have any games this week?
