Why is no one going out on loan?

edited September 2012 in General Charlton
I find it odd to think that no one from the club has gone out on loan. I know the loan window opens in a few days and that the new u21 league would mean these youngster are getting game time but surely the likes of bover, smith, pope (when fit), cousins, mambo etc would benefit from spending a season loan somewhere in league 1 or 2? I know we expecting (and hoping) that Clarke and Sullivan go out on loan however that is for different reasons. Do you think we could expect to see someone go out on loan?

  • "I know the loan window opens in a few days"

  • But there are other sides that have loaned out players before the close of the transfer market.... would make sense to send them as soon as possible to settle etc...
  • I think most of the those loans will be to or between Prem clubs, who were required to register their 25-man squads earlier this week. AFAIK, that doesn't apply to lower leagues and I doubt we'll be loaning anyone to a Prem club.
  • But what if we loaned out Cousins to Leyton Orient for a season, then sold Solly on Deadline Day?

    Add a recall clause
  • I'm glad we have not loaned out players yet .

The emergency window would allow a recall clause after the first month similar to what happened with Paul Hayes last season .
  • Maybe there is a strategy for moving certain younger players out on loan at a certain time for their development.

Would be the sort of question to ask Paul Hart or Nathan Jones.

If only there was a way to ask them.
  • Probably waiting until we see who can come in on loan before anyone goes out. For example if (pure conjecture) someone like Lukje Young could come in as backup for Solly, Cousins would be out on loan. BUT should no cover come in yet Cousins leaves anyway then frankly we have Wilson... and thats it as far as cover goes, and lets face it he seems better suited to midfield than defender on current evidence anyway.

I think recall clauses on a season long loan are only for January, so we'd still be short 'til then

At this point Henry informs us of the guests for the next Bromley meeting....................................................;-)

I thought Solly was short all year round

Just let me check my diary

Well knock me down with a wet haddock, Hart and Jones are coming to Bromley on 26 Sept. What a coincidence.

  • Also I fail to see the point of employing Paul Hart and his team if we are going to farm out all our young players as soon as the season starts.
