On a positive note, Fuller.........

Well he made an impact didn't he. Looks like he could be a very good signing : )

(Of course its hard to tell after 5 mins of seeing him play but he was brilliant for the 5 mins he was on the pitch)

  • Looked good :)
  • Looked like something we have not had the way the ball holds up at his feet and he drives on the run into the box was great be interesting once he gets into his rythum and gets more than ten mins
  • Under powell's regime i think it was important that Fuller impressed when he could. He did that and i'm excited by what he could do for us this season.

BWP or Fuller? well that's a whole new debate
  • Bwp and fuller I think would be the pair!!

It's a welcome dilemma to have, because we have three amazing strikers in BWP, Kermo and Fuller. We can't start all three but I'm with you, I'd give BWP and Fuller a go and do the somewhat unthinkable, drop Kermogant to the bench just to see how them two link up. I love Kermogant, who doesn't, he gives no less than 110% every game and is great in the air, but for me anyway a striker is merited on how many times he puts the ball in the net, and Wright-Phillips is a better goal scorer. BWP and Fuller could be a very potent mix. Not to say I would have Kermogant as a permanent bench warmer, not in my wildest dreams but I wanna see how these two can do alongside each other.
  • BWP & Fuller with Yann playing just behind would be my first choice.
  • You have had your first taste of Ric then :)

Wait until he's 'up to speed'

Can we have him back please :(

    3 in midfield? LOL

Can't wait pal to be honest I was unsure of him at first as I never paid that much attention to him before , seen hos goals on motd but I never knew he was as comfortable on the ball and so attack minded

On the ten min cameo today nope you can't have him back

  • Thought he looked different class. Some of the things he did today showed the level of ability he has. Best example was his skill down the left but even seeing him trap a ball looked different gravy

  • His control at one point was ridiculous! I think it was Hamer who smashed the ball down field and he just stopped it dead.
  • Was that the one around the half way line? He trapped it and carried the ball, I know its simple but seeing our players do it was encouraging
  • BWP & Fuller with Yann playing just behind would be my first choice.

    I know what you're saying.
I raised the same point back in March, last season.

Played in the hole/attacking midfielder, Kermo gets ball to feet and picks a pass.
Then makes the late run, arriving in the box unmarked.

    Defenders' nightmare.

  • That way he control the ball from the goal kick was out of this world. I can't wait to see him take apart the nigels.
  • let's get one thing straight, Yann must play
  • Looked really good. Real impact player
  • When fully fit it has to be Yann & Fuller, based on todays brief cameo Fuller is twice the player BWP is
  • I expect him to score 44 league goals this season then

If he was in League One he probably would !
  • ok, knock a third off for the higher league, still has to score 30 league goals then

  • Interesting maths.

I think the comment was twice the "player" not twice the goalscorer. And again it also mentioned that this assesment was based on "today's brief cameo" - it's surely beyond question we were a much better team when Fuller came on than with BWP today (if you were there) ?
  • Just seen the highlights on FLS.

The cut in from the wing and beat 3 or 4 men is a Ric standard, he does it so so well.

Hurtful to see him in a non stoke shirt though :(

Looks like you guys are my new 'team I'll look out for and hope they do well' for the season.

    Ricarrrrddddoooo fullerrrr
  • seen it again on TFLS = deffo his goal. Hits the post and then Lee Camp ON ITS WAY IN..........not an OG in my view, otherwise there would be dozens of OG every week.
  • BWP & Fuller with Yann playing just behind would be my first choice.

    3 in midfield? LOL

Yes it has been done in the past, im guessing you have not watched many Football matches in your time if you think it is that crazy, very strange comment.

If Lee Camp wasn't there would it have gone in or rebounded out ... I've only seen it once and thought it would have rolled out but if you say it was rolling in then deffo fullers but if it wasn't I think OG is correct

Can't be arsed to read the thread and someone's probably said this but we could start all three if you gave Kermo a free role behind BWP and Fuller and played a midfield three, which could be Hollands, Pritchard and Stephens/Jackson/Kerkar. It's a similar system that Lennie used to accommodate Robert Lee back in 90/91.
  • Why not, at home games, play the 3 of them, with Yann in the hole behind Fuller and BWP. Then in midfield have Stephens who can pick a pass out, Kerkar and Hollands. Then with Jacko, Pritch, Green, Cook, on the bench we can change it around and add more width if we need it. Away from home in this league it might pay us, for awhile at least, to go 4-5-1. I know it means making changes on a more regular basis than we did last season, but this is a different league, a step up in class and we need to adapt to each game/venue accordingly. Just an early morning Sunday thought!
  • I think with 3 in mid we could get over run in midfield.
  • Be careful lads. Fuller's clearly a quality player but his scoring records of 13 goals in the last 3 years is hardly earth-shatteringly wonderful to start talking about dropping Yann or reshuffling our entire team to accommodate him. I'll also be having a fiver on at least one red card this year for him too, given his poor disciplinary record. Is he fit enough? Is he truly motivated enough? For me, I see him starting 75% of the games on the bench this season. Does score some fabulous goals though so, like most here, desperately hoping he has come with the right attitude to avoid anoth Barnes or Hasselbaink scenario. Come on Ric!
  • But he has scored 6 in 4 games for us!
