HH has a column in the local rag here, "The Wharf", and says that he's hopeful of being available this weekend.... the weekly paper but published today but I'd guess printed a couple of days ago....

How reliable is the Thatcher story? There's been no official comment as far as I can see and the only paper carrying it is the Kent Messenger.

i'm not too bothered, i'd just rather see any eventuality that fortune or sankofa don't get a look in... if HH is fit and thatcher isn't i'd go:

I don't think Fortune would be too exposed against Watford myself.

In fact I am more comfortable with the idea of Fortune at centre back than I am Hermann at left back in all honesty.

Assuming that HH is too slow to be a left back, then Thatcher is our only left back in the squad. Presumably the plan has always been to play Luke if Thatcher gets injured, and bring in Sankofa? I can't see too many options otherwise.

ZZ can play indefence too so could fill a position at right back allowing LY to drop to LB. Thatcher's knock is reported by Pardew on the club website preview, hopefully a bit of mind games and he will be fit

BBC site shows the squad as
