    how many you bringing down?

Nobody will mind you posting if you don't slag off yann, then i sense a backlash will come your way

think it'll be tight personally but see us nicking it, as teams usually do when a assistant heads off vs his old tutor, ( see steve mclaren at boro vs fergie) be a good game and refreshing to see a side come to us and attack again,

welcome back, feeling quietly confident about this one, you appear to have a pretty strong squad this season and reckon it'll be a tight game.

think we'll sneak it 2-1 with Yann scoring a trademark free kick.

I reckon Powell will have them RIGHT up for this one.

Leicester City will be a massive test for us tomorrow, and whatever the final result the whole event will teach us a lot about where we stand at the moment. I personally hope we're a bit cautious, and don't go flying forward because I understand that Leicester may have the pace and power to mount dangerous counter-attacks.
Either way I hope your fans wind up big Yann a lot because it will make him play better I'm sure.
I also anticipate an OKish reception for Konch, and if you lot can be arsed, a good reception for our beloved Chris Powell.
Welcome to the forum by the way.

    Welcome back. I think another 1 v 1 or a 2 v1 to us.

Think it will be a great game, and I know for sure that our boys will be up for it.

The plot seems to be around Yann, which will be very interesting and I do think he's going to score.

Not so sure Paul Konchesky will get a great reception, a few claps. I liked him though and will give him a welcome.

very happy we have fixtures midweek with teams like leicester instead of bury and rochdale, normally hate the midweek fixtures but think this one will be a great one, come on Yann!

Thanks for the positive feedback guys, i've got alot of time for you boys.
I'd never slag Yann off, im not a fickle fan like a good percentage are these days. You could see the guy had talent, it just never worked out for him at Leicester and 'that pen' never did him any favours!

Not sure how many we're bringing. We took 1,100 to Torquay last Tues which was good so i'd expect a few more....

You certainly had a good start on Saturday, a solid draw against one of the fancied teams so i expect it to be a tough test for us, as i did anyway. You all seem very confident though so i guess we'll see.

We have alot of pace going forward, most of our strikers have pace as do our wide players and even full backs get forward well. Slightly concerned by our defence as we're very short there at the moment with injuries.

P.S. Chris Powell is loved at Leicester so he'll defo get a good reception

Welcome back Chris really looking forward to the game and hope it's a good one.

Haha, if you think we're confident you should've seen this place before Saturday! ;)

I'd still settle for a draw, but I'm hoping we can sneak in a win - I think we've started the season with the two hardest fixtures as well; a nice welcome to our new league!

If our great Chris Powell was happy with you guys (and Im pretty sure he said that Leicester was a special place for him, that we were the only team he would've left for) then you can't be too bad, and if CP likes you then who am I not too?! But in all seriousness, from what I've heard your fans are meant to be top notch!

Our fans are ok, we try our best. Guess you can judge for yourselves.

Just for the record, i think it'll be a draw, which i'll take but I know Nigel Pearson will want us to try and win the game

2-2 draw fast paced football, also how do you think the reception for michael Morrison will be from your fans?
  • Options
    13 Logan
    08 Danns
    10 King
    24 Knockaert
    14 Waghorn
    18 Schlupp
    35 Nugent

Leicester bench on Saturday, not too shabby.

I cant speak on behalf of everyone but i'd guess he'll get a good reception.... I certainly would applaud him. He was excellent in our league 1 title winning season then built up a good relationship with Jack Hobbs the following year in the Championship before Sven decided he wasn't a big enough name and sold him!! Big mistake!!
Glad he's doing well though now

Yann's gonna dink a penalty down the middle and score, in front of your fans in the Jimmy Seed, and will then celebrate like Cantona to cement his place as a charlton legend. ITSO FACTO

    I wouldnt bet against it!!!

Who are your main danger men?

Attacking wise yes but NO defenders at all. Hence, my reason for concern there!

    Or even ipso facto ; - )

Personally wouldn't let Yann near a pen.

JJ needs to get back on the penalty bike after orient and he's the first choice taker.

If Yann takes any penalty when the game is still live (ie were not 4 nil up or down) then he's on a hiding to nothing. If he misses he'll have proved the LCFC fans right, if he slots in home in the corner then they'll say "should have done that in the play-off semi".

Main danger men will be Yann from corners and set pieces, Jackson arriving late in the box and free kicks, BWP if the ball drops to him inside the box, and probably Stephens from long range.

I would say we are at our most dangerous from dead ball situations though, Hollands, JJ, Yann, Cort and Morrison are all good in the air, and BWOP can surprise a few too. We have about 6 players who will gladly take corners, 4 who can shoot from free kicks across the field, and even a couple of long thrown in specialists.

We won't be much of a danger on the counter attack though.

I think it'll be 1-1, which will be a good result for us. I think Leicester will end up in the top six in May.

Well i personally think we are average from set pieces (defensively) so i wouldnt be surprised to see us concede a goal from a free kick or corner!

    Welcome back Chris.

Think you might just edge it with your fire-power but hope those defensive concerns prove justified! Should be an attractive game that will teach us a lot about what to expect in home games this season. We're v strong away but might have to learn for a while about how to assert ourselves as the home team without leaving too many gaps v better quality opposition.

Our strong defence and keeper keep it to 1-1 again. Important not to lose at home early in the season as fans can get nervy. This would already be a problem for Palarse & Millwall if they had any!

I say we have defensive concerns, we've have kept 3 clean sheets in a row now but its a new look back 4 really with one of our academy lads playing in there. We have 2 x centre backs out injured.

Look out for our French lad Knockaert (if he plays at some point), very talented

This game should be a good game, might end in a bit of a reality check for us tbh. There is a buzz about CAFC at the mo which I'm sure the same could be said for LCFC

Can't see it being a boring 0-0 although I'd take a point LCFC will be up there at the end of the season (most likely champs)

Other than "that penalty" how did Yann do and how was he perceived before that kick irrevecobaly changed how people saw him ?

I was doom and gloom pre Brum but really enjoyed that game and we looked like we belonged at this level a win tomorrow would be fantastic.

I am hoping Yann scores the winner.

Did any of your current team play when Yann was with you?

Even started to bore myself on this one (and Chris LCFC may even remember from last time), but would still dearly love us to sign Andy King. On the bench again on Sat, and still scored a cracking goal. I'm feeling 2-1 win for us tomorrow, genuinely little-kid excited as couldn't make it to Birmingham.

Yann was perceived as a decent player but nothing more. You could see he had talent but only scored once in about 19 games and never really got going. That pen was always going to be the end for him!!
