is kerker a bit like shelvey?

Not really. Shelvey's more of a distribution player who scores the odd goal.

Kerkar has more of a Racon type player but with better ability on the ball and going for goal.
  • I think the first 10 seconds of the game last night showed a small glimpse of what Kerkar can bring to the midfield. He picked up the ball from the kick off and drove into space, pushing back the Orient defence onto their 18 yard line where he then hammered a left foot shot narrowly past the goal keepers left hand upright.

We missed somebody with this drive and dynamism in midfield last year. Somebody who is comfortable on the ball and not afraid to attack players.

I admit he was only effective in small patches of play last night but if he settles in well and gets to full match fitness he could turn out to be another bargain basement gem along the lines of Pritchard and Kermogant.

One to watch this season I reckon.
  • Cook was very clever and competent on the ball and a class above Green or Wagstaff. He made three or four slide rule passes that opened Orient up. His pass to Wagstaff for the goal was absolute quality. My concern was his knees. He took a bad knock in each half - I know he has a history of injuries and hope he isnt another BWP knee wise!! For me he is absolutely good enough to start.
  • Kerkar is good on the ball (albeit very left-footed) but offers little defensively, and lost most of the aerial challenges he went for. He is definitely more of a winger than a centre mid.

Cook impressed me more, and I would not be upset to see him start against Birmingham.

agree with this. kerkar definitely seems a winger. going forward he looked threatening but in the air and defensively he was poor. overall i was not that impressed but presumed he was playing out of position, just like cook did against Gillingham. he played in the middle looked poor but last night he played where he's suited and put out a good performance.
powells trying to find this creative midfielder and is obviously hoping he is already in the ranks...I’m not so sure any of our players, including new singings can fill that void, we might just have to put up with that.
  • I thought Kerker was superb at times last night where as cook wasn't. I think he will be a luxury player though as i'm not sure where he will fit into a 442 starting line up.

Superb ball from Cook to Waggy for the goal though.
