Good read here:

About time somebody stuck up for Football really considering how much abuse it seems to have got the past couple of weeks in light of the games.

Nah.
Here's a clue - starts with PL.
bring on the two bob spanners!
Capitalism is about the efficient allocation of resources for maximum financial gain - this is clearly not the case in the PL where top clubs are losing between 50-60 million quid per season.
Players wages are utter, utter madness and the bubble will have to burst one day.
At the World Cup in Germany me and mates got talking to the locals, they asked who we all supported, Spurs got an 'oh yeah, Klinsmann', only a few of the older lot had heard of Forest, and when I said 'oh, you wouldn't know them, we're a small club called Millwall' they all started singing no one likes us!
Similar has happened when on a tour of duty in Bosnia in 1998 - locals hadn't heard of the likes of Palace, Charlton, even Villa...but when Millwall was mentioned I had to pose for pictures.
As TLR once said - if Millwall played Spurs on the same night as Charlton or Palace played Arsenal in the cup all the top reporters, tv and neutral fans attention would be focused on The Den.
We're small, we're shit, we have the worst rep in football...but we aren't in anybody's shadow!
