True to his word it looks as though Powell is going to start the season with the 'old guard', Stephens and Pritchard bringing more skill and commitment to the midfield instead of the pace of a Wagstaff or Haynes. The win over Fulham is a very fine result, especially given the mauling the side took there last season and will further boost the confidence of a team still brimming with it after the overall success of last year. Birmingham, Leicester, Hull and Forest look out, we're gonna get yas !! .. on paper all hard games but if the team retains its early season form they could all prove to be (especially Hull !!) paper tigers
Thanks for all the reports guys. Stating the obvious, but this really has to be so good for self-belief, especially after falling behind. Whilst we don't want to over-estimate a psf win, we shouldn't UNDER-estimate it either. It really doesn't sound like a lazy leg-stretch, but a hard-earned victory away at a team that give v little away at home.
A great win, a bit worrying for Fulham though, Dempsey was the difference betwseen the 2 sides in the cup game, and if he is leaving they need a decent replacement...
There is no way a full strength Fulham team would have wanted to get beaten so close to the start of the season. The blueprint for the coming season has to be around our strengths of preventing chances and taking our chances. We are not really a team that thrashes opponents but are geared to get results- both at home but equally away.
Just watched Chris Powell post match interview on player. Man love or what! If there is any doubt what an asset he is to us then forget it. I had felt Chris was a bit subdued so far but his interview revealed a man on top of his job, certainly the Chris of last season. Watch it if you can, and then tell me he isn't a great guy and the perfect manager for us. Chris mate, have a great season.

Good summary of what we are about Muttley. Just hope our crowd stay patient when the oppo have spells of pressure and dominance - gonna be a lot more of that this year imo

Saw him outside so gave him my spare.
Stephens did well enough without being outstanding.
