http://www.swanstrust.co.uk/History.aspxSwans Trust were able to purchase part of their club as part of a consortium when the club got in financial trouble, and look where they are now?
I hope to post some thoughts from one of their number on the story since the aquisition.

as the article states......
With a structured relationship between supporters and clubs, and the benefits of supporter ownership now on the agenda, it is hoped that the committee and government will see through their recommendations.

The Swansea Trust was able to acquire a stake for less than £100k because their club was almost bust even after Mel Nurse had intervened at his own expense as a White Knight. That was affordable. Our problem, surely, is that too many people have too much money to lose for a ST to have any meaningful bargaining power?
The Guardian article sums it up. If CAFC owners are in it to make money rather than for the love of the club we are on a path that leads who knows where. That is not a reason for not having a ST though.
I am sorry I can't get along to these meetings to lend my support.
