In particular for those who are interested, I really recommend the book I brought along to the Trust meeting last night. It is David Conn's "The Beautiful Game? - searching for the soul of football". It is several years old now, and poignantly it includes several positive references to Charlton circa 2004-5, and two pages devoted to an interview with Richard Murray. I'm only half way through it, but the great thing is how it gives examples of individuals who tick one or more of Falconwood's list, above. I think it is really important to understand exactly how individuals can save or make their individual fortunes by getting a club into the Premiership. The story of David Dein is particularly instructive, as is that of Geoffrey Richmond, the guy who took Bradford City into the Prem.
