Does the club buy back season tickets?

edited August 2012 in General Charlton
Just for the record, I'm not planning on trying to sell mine back, but just curious. If living/working arrangements change, does anyone know if the club would refund it?

  • Doubt it, otherwise you would have lots of fickle people refunding them halfway through the season if we were struggling, and the club would not have the money to refund them all as the season ticket sales is a major source of income for transfers and running costs
  • I wouldn't expect you could half way through, I meant more before the season started. I'm sure they must cover themselves to avoid everyone selling back if something dramatic happens that the fans don't like and results in a mass exodus. It's whether they would on an individual basis for certain circumstances
  • How many season tickets have we sold so far? I know it was 10k but that was about a month ago. Do we have new numbers?
  • I don't know but they might do the honourable thing in exceptional circumstances, like serious illness or death of the season ticket holder prior to the season commencement.
Of course, if bought through a consumer credit agreement, like through Zebra, or your own credit card, the terms of the agreement (which I haven't read) would apply and there would be the standard consumer credit cooling off period.
Presumably, you could also default on your payments to Zebra, the ticket would then be cancelled (and your credit rating would be trashed). :-)

Mind you, if you were dead, losing your credit rating might not be such a bad thing.
Well, so my accountant keeps telling me, though I remain somewhat scepticle to be honest.
  • My Accountant, Hotblack Desiato, suggested I stay dead for two years for tax reasons.

Agree with Cafcfan. Doubt there is an automatic refund policy but the club might listen in exceptional circumstances. Write to Peter Varney or Steve Kavanagh and ask.

Why....have they both had refunds confirmed?

In these circumstances send me an email at my club address explaining the reason and I'd look at it. We would normally be flexible before the start of the season.

Ah but are you referring to the HGTTG character or the North London estate agents with the same name? hotblackdesiato.co.uk/

BTW, I had heard there's an office in Tortola.

The HGTTG charecter is, obviously, named after the estate agents. One of Douglas Adam's little jokes.

Tortola is a lovely place to do business or so I'm told

  • I think you misunderstood he's wanted you dead for two years..
