It's good to hear that we are looking to bring in several more new faces and I can understand that agents are looking for inflated salaries. These demands will hopefully get more realistic and affordable as we get further into the transfer window.
can't fault SCP - says all the right things and they all make sense. After today's game I don't think there is that much urgency for players - apart from another CB as we really only have Cort to replace Taylor & Morro (Mambo not Championship standard imo) and a quality, esperienced striker.
Glad to see we're actually in for him. I had a feeling that we'd talk about signing him all transfer window and then he'd quietly move to another team and we wouldn't have been anywhere near
Extremely good perspective ( as ever ) from our leader. While it would be great to have everyone on the plane to Spain on Monday, I expect a lot of transfer fees and wage demands will become more realistic as the season and the closure of the window approach
Just seen hi-lights of Reading's 7-0 win at Wimbledon. Antonio appeared to be on fire. Having signed Cook and Wilson, both of whom can play wide, I assume we wont persue him.
As for Baldock, I can only see us getting him on loan. Wages will be too much for us to get him on a perm.
good news from CP in my opinion...looking to improve the squad..not going to be paying over the odds for one player that may blow our budget......wants 2/3 others and prepared to play a waiting game to get who he wants....I think we may be surprised by who we do get....it may not be in the next week....but before the season starts I guess.

Saw the goals on SSN yesterday and you could clearly see him shouting at the WH fans in the away end after he scored. Is it a risky move if SA wants rid but the player is keen to stay? Perhaps that will fire him up to prove a point, as he's been doing in pre season with 3 goals in 3 games.
Hopefully if we sign someone like Baldock, we include relegation clauses this time so we don't end up back in League 1 with players on Championship + wages.
Not being pessimistic about our chances, but we need to learn from past mistakes.

BWP, Haynes, Kermorgant, Cook, Smith plus one other gives us enough options.
SCP always knows how to bring a smile back to our faces !
