Skysports update we're in the Championship!

edited June 2012 in General Charlton
Skysports have finally updated the teams in each league! Love looking at all the other decent teams in our league instead of Rochdale, Yoevil and Exeter!! Roll on August!

  • 16/1 with coral to win the league
  • BBC have done the same.............god it looks good and a strong division next season
  • what are the odds for getting in the play offs?
  • 16/1 with coral to win the league
20 at bill hill, had my 1st cheeky £10 on it lastweek
  • 16-1 is the worst odds out of all the bookmakers. Best odds are 25-1 with Bet Victor.

Charlton to finish top 6 is 11-4 with Stan James.

Not gonna happen with this squad.

Stronger now then when we were last there, really hope we sign some players. Otherwise I can see us being like Millwall, a few decent results here and there and the rest the year they were c**p.
  • The players don't even come back to training for another month yet - a lot of players are on or just returning from holidays with their families. I wish people would stop panicking.
  • I am not panicking, just putting it out there. As some people here and elsewhere think our squad is good enough. And it isn't imo.

Good enough for what though? Mid-table? Promotion? Survival?

More than anything next year what I fear the most is too many people expecting us to just carry on from last season and winning 80% of our games. I have no doubt if we lose a few games there will be herberts up near me in the North Upper moaning, whinging, slagging players and their fellow fans offs by September.

By all means we need to look forward rather than backwards but I think we need to slightly realign our expectations from last season - especially considering we are competing on an entirely different financial and quality level.

Well put post and I agree.

There is no chance of us coming back down with our current squad but the strength of the teams in this league is what worries me.

I hope the board don't think it's going to be an easy ride either. And I also hope we don't have to sell to bring more players in.

Surely if they (the board) have any ambition at all they'll give CP some money to spend.

Mid table finish with current squad.

  • Charlton @ 20/1 with Ladbrokes so I've taken them e/w so will pay out if 1,2 or 3rd......
  • I have to admit that I did like looking at the side bar on Sky Sports news with Charlton as Champions, still hopefully it won't be long before we see that in the Championship

Thats what I went for, personally I dont think we will go up.. but would be gutted if we did well and I hadnt shown a bit of faith.

This. A few season mid table is fine by me to carry on re-building this club step by step.
  • Only 10th in table. Sort it out Powell !!!
