Long term, unfortunately neither Green nor Wagstaff will be good enough for the Championship. We need a player on the right flank who is consistent and has a touch of class. Koren @ Hull is the man for us. He's no spring pheasant but has a few good years left. Affording his wages could be a problem though

Koren? He's a centre midfielder!
Not necessarily .. he plays right across the midfield but predominately on the right side for Hull ... wherever he prefers, I'd like to see him playing for us
To be fair his last minute winner against Yeovil was one of my favourite moments of the season! Also for the record I think he'll prove alot of people wrong next year!
There are 3 or 4 players from the current side who played 30+ games last season who I wouldnt want anywhere near our first team next season and Green is one of them
Expect that he will be retained as a squad player but right midfield is a weak area that needs to be addressed
Beckham is not skilful nor overly quick but give him half a yard and he can whip in a decent cross without beating the full back. From what I've seen green is from the same mould.
I feel the only ability that waggy posseses is the ability to moan at the ref and run around a lot

Beckham also worked very hard, tracked back and was an intelligent player. Green too often loses possession, picks the wrong option or looks behind the play.
As for Waggy he scores more, offers plenty of movement and energy, defends well and has a better partnership with Solly. Also gets a few assists.
It's probably the weakest area of our squad and I think we'd really notice the difference if we signed a good Championship winger.
He didn't have the impact last season that we thought he would have - whether that's because he came into the starting XI late, or because he was a bit over-awed at playing for a bigger club or just took time to settle who knows. He'll be a much better player having gotten this season under his belt and I've a feeling that next year he'll be more consistent. But right now I'd rather have Wagstaff playing wide right.
The debate between green and waggy will go on since both have impressed at times without being completely convincing. But if we add up their stats over the season, they've got 10+ goals and 10+ assists combined. I would have been happy had a single player delivered that so I'm happy now because it means we've got a decent contribution from right mid. If you add Haynes into the mix who can play on the right in a 433 you'd have to say that right wing certainly doesn't seem like our weakest area.
To be fair, Powell's assessment which is on record seems much more realistic than soem of the knee jerk knockers on here. I know who I trust to be right.
Powell also praised some of the players we had last season, but later sold/released them. We can't yet be certain either Green or Waggy will even be here next season.
I'm sure Powell also sees it as a weaker area given the way both got a run in the team without really securing their place.
Powell wasn't afraid to get rid of Clarke when he saw he wasn't good enough. With our ambition for Prem football in the next few years I'm expecting a right winger to come in and one to be sold/go out on loan.
Part of Green's problem last season may have been that he was only a small part of the team. At the Daggers he took all their set pieces, direct freekicks and even penalties, with us he never got near the last two. It can be hard going from the main man to the side lines. He may feel more part of the club next season.

Crikey! Didn't we get over 100 points last season?
Amazing comments - My take on it is that the bottom half of the Championship equates to the top half of League One. So if you dominated league one with 101 points, you are going to be at least middle of the table with no changes. Bring in one or two -but not major changes - and you should be very competetive.

That's a very good point , I was at both the charlton v dag games he was outstanding controlled both the games and scored in both games , he took all the set pieces even the thrown ons in the attacking half of the pitch , dag game is based on getting the ball moving quickly almost at a rushed pace . That type of game suits greens way of playing , think he has found the slower pace of charltons game harder to play in I've seen plenty of forward passes and moves broken down because the other team players are not on his wave length. The move that led to his Freak goal with kerm pass and move one two at pace is a good example of that , also the cross to kerm at mk dons when'd they both came on is another.
Sell him, sign Lawrie Wilson, make a profit and have a better player
Put Wilson as right back behind green and you have got a winning formular both will get forward and back and have played with each other before. That if solly goes which he will one day.
Danny Haynes has only got strength & pace which is great for a athlete but his footballling teckers are much to be desired . Green could play a sherringham roll or behind a front two but the team would have to adapt to this style of play , can see a short pass ping a long ball and shoot from outside the box. Can see the Andy Reid similarity good in pocession , touch and vision .

Diagree Sheringham and Reid are clever players. Danny Green is not, his decison making is very poor, he very often will try the complicated ball when it is not on when he could quite easily play the simple ball.
Danny Green has without doubt the ability to make it in the Championship but at the moment his decision making and tackling are really letting him down.

I was really impressed with some of his cameos towards the end of the season.
Sure, he's no Danny Haynes when it comes to raw pace, but can accelerate well over that important first half yard to take him away from challenges.
But he has a good long distance shot, can pick a pass, and interchange neatly in tight areas.
Whether he's good enough for the Champs, only starting him can tell.
Maybe the team has to play more to Green's qualities?
It may be that he'll end up playing a more midfield game.
I see some similarities with Andy Reid's style of play.
