Didn't we have the yellow kit as an emergency because the players disliked the grey kit under floodlights. They complained it was hard to pick each other out? Could be wrong but that is my vague recollection.
Wasn't that Man Utd, they had a grey kit and used it at the old dell, losing 3-0 at half time they changed their kit at half time. Not sure what the full time score was? Think they lost.
Eight years before Ferguson made that complaint, Lennie Lawrence explained in his Charlton programme notes that the grey shirt was causing the players all sorts of problems on the pitch.
It was the 02/03 season as that year you couldn't wear black in the fa cup as the refs still had to wear black in the cup. This white kit was produced by le coq sportif in case we needed an away kit in the fa cup. We played fulham at loftus road and lost in round three wearing red, so the white kit was never needed. It is definitely a match kit and the one I have has a premier league number 2 on the back.
Also, if I remember correctly, wimbledon couldn't wear their dark blue home kit in the cup that year and had to wear red instead.
I have an old match worn shirt. Its the 1994/1995 (ish) one that has vertical purple and green stripes. Trouble is it was Jamie Stuart's. I might use it to clean the car!!!

United changed at half time and lost 6-3.
I have to say, I've never seen it before either.
