Chrissy, excuse should have quoted, thats harsh related to Addick in Exile's comment about that miserable sod Tevez
In regards to your comment, I think that all the fans and media who felt that we needed to take it to the next level probably don't support the club any more. I was happy with the premiership status, Curbs is a legend. When and if we get back to the premiership, I hope we remember that time again and don't make the same mistake.
Most clubs wouldn't have made his position untenable - they would have fired him and paid compensation.
Maybe Oggy, but most clubs would fire and then procrastinate at a payout in order to avoid paying for as long as poss and for as little as poss. Well done Curbs on having it written into his contract that player outgoings would be his decision.
Wolves fans didn't want Curbs back in Feb....wonder if they could turn back time they would think the same?
If Curbs had taken the Wolves job, they would have been much closer to staying up, firing MCCarthy in the first place was very short sighted. West Brom are much sensible in not firing their managers when going between the prem and champs. Still think Wolves would not Curbs though due to associations with Aston Villa and Birmingham.
He was obvioulsy a success at West Ham, kept them up when it looked impossible and finished in the top 10 the year after. If that's not success for West Ham I don't know what is!
thought he nearly took them down rather than kept them up. Dont think they were in bottom 3 when he took over.
Completely wrong - they were in the relegation zone when he took over, on their worst run of defeats in 70 years.
They won 7 of the last 9 league games and then finished tenth the season after. The next season started with two wins out of three in the league before he resigned because of board interference.
He was unquestionably a success there.
How hard was it to put Tevez' name on the scoresheet? Tevez banged in goals by the bucket. I would say the Hammers stayed up despite Curbs!
Utter garbage. Plus Tevez had gone to Man U when he took West Ham to 10th the following season.

And for his very first game against Man Utd, Which they won 1-0, who did he drop from the starting line-up?........................................Tevez

Sorry Addick_in_Exile but that is a load of crap! Curbs did a good job at west ham
Good job at West Ham? W28 D14 D29 Spent £51.57 million on transfers including: - David Michele - Herta Ilunga - Kieran Dyer (who was crocked) - Craig Bellemy (also crocked) - Orn Eyjolfsson - Valun Behrami - Nolberto Solano (who was signed and later released)

VFF: not true for me and all the guys around me in the East Stand who still have their season tickets. Don't you recall the fact that for 5 years our final 3rd of the season was always relegation form? It was that aspect of Curbs' management that I questioned as 5 years on the bounce like that could not be a coincidence and it felt like something was missing. IMO, of course.
Well, Meldrew 66, I hope you and those around you in the East Stand have really enjoyed the last five / six years before this season, then. Thanks for wishing that upon us!
Could the regular drop in form after Christmas be down to the depth of our squad - when injuries and suspensions mount up towards the end of the season you need quality players to come into the side - could it be that we didn't have those quality players waiting in the wings?

I think you have hit the nail on the head Saga , might be worth letting Chris Powell know when we get into the Prem :-0
Jobs available: Liverpool Villa WBA Chelsea - TBC None of these will take him...i take back my comment of he will definatly be in the Midlands next season. Curbs has to lower is league status to get back into it i think now. Hopefully the board at CAFC will have the common sense and NOT i repeat NOT allow a Director of Football figure with Curbs in mind.
