That one with the prices is brilliant, Macronate - you can see it's just after decimilisation, with the shilling prices underneath! Was just about the time my Dad started dragging me along!!
Looked up that Decimalisation was 1971, so that photo must have been around 1971/1972. Blimey I used to go back then. I don't remember that entrance, although tbf I was about 9 yrs old & entered/exited via Lansdowne Lane.
Unfortunately I remember it well as my dad was not at all well in those days and couldn't walk too far so we paid to park in the West Stand car park. I don't think the road was closed in those days and the uniformed commissionaire would stop the pedestrians, wave us in and salute as we passed him. I don't remember him being about after the game, though when it was a right free-for-all to get out! My Dad died during that season, Charlton's Jubilee year so was spared seeing us relegated to the 3rd. Division for the first time since he saw them win it in the '30s. I've a feeling the fence and gates etc. were taken down at the end of that season but could well be wrong on that.
Ah, White Hart Lane, 1988ish. I remember it well. I told him to play three at the back. Mark Reid and John Humphrey as wing backs. Andy Peake sitting deep, Walsh and Stuart bombing on to support Melrose and Pearson.
