he might be a nice bloke and all that, but for england, he hit the corner flag with a shot ffs!
Ah you mean THAT shot against France at wembley, whilst it was a crap effort. It's a myth that his shot went out for a throw in/hit the corner flag etc. It actually went out of play within the 18 yard box (not a great effort), I think it looks so bad as he won the ball on the half way line and decided to try and beat the keeper in a one on one from about 30 yards!....but what a goal it would have been :-)
"Harsh on Geoff Thomas I think! Geoff Thomas is a thoroughly decent bloke and does not deserve that comparison."
He's a top bloke, he suffered leukaemia after his footballing career was over and though that's in remission he's raised a lot of money for leukaemia charities and research.
As for booing players who leave a club, has anyone here left a job and hated the company after? and let it be known?
Ok a bit different with football because of the emotional nature of the beast, but I can't criticise Konch for wanting to leave to better his career as he sees it, and that's his choice, by transferring to West Ham he's played in and scored a goal in an FA Cup final and was within two seconds of a winner's medal and through that he got into Europe. But where Scott Parker was doing the "I can achieve all my ambitions at Charlton" bit, maybe the more honest player was Konch for saying what Parker was probably thinking: I want to go somewhere and win stuff and be a legend...

What it's about is us not losing. I don't care about their fans - someone's got to get relegated so why not them? Why not them I ask again? Better than Watford, Sheff Utd, Wigan who aren't such 'oooh, we're The academy of Football' spouting tosspots.

It happens so many times to so many teams, player gets a ton of grief, he does his talking with the ball.
Reason enough for me not to boo!
