I only got to see three away games (all wins), but Sheff W and Bournemouth were as good as any wins I have seen in recent years. For me, the best since Denis in the last minute at our friends ground.
Yeovil away on boxing day was pretty amazing. Not the best performance but the last 20 minutes was incredible with Morrison going up top and Danny Greens last minute goal. Also Yanns free kick was the first time I knew he was actually quality.
Notts County- Hooters for the jugs (and the pitchers), the result and the fact it was the first away. Sheff Utd- Love a Sheffield day out, the atmosphere was first class, the weather was scorching and of course the result. Fuham- Atmosphere was unbelievable and enjoyed seeing 7k Addicks standing and singing. Bournemouth- Made a weekend of it which was great and the importance of the result. Preston- The celebrations and also making a weekend of it on Blackpool
Amazing so many great days, but nobody has mentioned Yeovil? I wasn't there but fisting fresh air at my phone at the dinner table on boxing day at the in laws in front of about 12 non football people!
For me As I wasn't at Carlisle, 1, Sheff Weds, 2 Preston, and then Fulham.
Sods law that in the.last 20 seasons, this were the least amount of aways I managed to see.
Never had a particularly good away record, so it comes as no surprise that of the five aways I managed to see, we only won once. Rochdale, and we did our best to screw that up !
1) Carlisle - The euphoria and knowing were finally on the way up after six years of dross. 2) Oldham - For grinding out a win with nine men against all the odds and a bent ref. 3) Bournemouth - For the atmosphere and nicking 3 points with the last kick of the match.
Enjoyment and booze wise:-
1) Fulham - Brilliant from start to finish with a pub crawl in Putney 2) Brentford - Another boozy day 3 points and meeting Yann on the tube home and getting him to autograph my match day ticket.
Comments
Sheffield Wednesday was a magical day though, as was Sheffield United.
Winning at Oldham with 9 men was a real highlight too.
The midweek 4-0 at Chesterfield, the first away against Notts County and Fulham for the atmosphere all deserve a mention.

All in all a top season.
As an aside - Stevenage the worst that I had a ticket for, since we never made it after our car was written off on the M25
2. Bournemouth
3. Fulham ( Boat )
