Challenge/Game 'Sporcle' - How many Charlton XIs can you name? (Apologies if it's been done before.)

Have a go at this game. You will be scared by either how much you've forgotten or how bad some of our recent teams have been.

  • The worst one is the Charlton players 2000-2009
  • I got 122/176, including only 4 (F O U R) of the team from 2009/10 - I must've erased that mob from the memory banks!

The last two years was fiarly easy as was most of our "glory days" team from the Prem days - but since then ............!
  • I got 132 - missed out some really bloody obvious ones as well.
  • Got positions wrong in it! Especially that they have Mooney as a midfielder!
  • Got 147 didn't realise the likes of Cranie /Bouazza and Mooney played so many games for us.

    Good fun
  • Got 158 - Most of the ones I missed were one season wonders, except for Darren Ambrose who managed to contribute over 4 seasons what most players can contribute in half a match.
  • Good website to kill time!

Try some of the Premier League XI's, hard hard hard!
  • Who was the most obscure player that people got? You can see what the least guessed ones are by clicking the stats button.
    Mine was Mooney
  • Brendan O'Connell was my most obscure one. Surprised I remembered Carl Tiler as well.
  • Yep, Brendan O'Connell was mine I think

  • I forgot Chris Powell. Awkward.

    162/176

    The one's i missed were

    Barness
    Chapple
    O'Connell
    Redfearn
    Todd
    El Karkouri
    Madjid Bougherra
    Zheng Zhi
    Martin Cranie
    Andy Gray
    Mooney

Bouazza was the most obscure one i got.
  • I got 133 but forgot many big names!
  • I got 118 which I'm quite pleased with considering my 1st season was in 2001 when I was just 6 years old. I didn't get a few because I couldn't spell their names (El Karkouri, Kishishev)

for the 2007 one I was just typing in all the loanees we had. There were loads but none came up. Makes you realise how many people played that season.
  • I wasted so much time spelling some!!!!!!!!! But I still got 137/176 : )
  • Got 141. After about 10 attempts I gave up trying to spell Hermann's surname though!!!
  • 122 for me.
would've been 128 but for spelling mistakes.
    i didn't get 7 of the 2004/5 or 7 of the 2005/6 seasons.
i didn't get darren bent ffs.
  • 166 not to bad for 19 i'd say :)
  • I can't even contemplate how bad my score would be
  • I got 140, which I'm pretty pleased with.
Most obscure that I got, I'd say, was Thomas Myhre.
Forgot all about Hriedarsson, which I feel a bit silly about.

  • Got 142. Missed out on Cranie because I refused to put his name in on principle. Forgot Talal and Kish which I'm pretty ashamed about
  • 159.

Most obvious omissions were El Karkouri, Barness and Perry.
  • 161. Couldn't work out that midfielder in 09/10 - no wonder as it was Mooney. Forgot about Benson last season.
  • 144.

Based on the stats, the most obscure ones that I got were Diawara and Mooney (I was surprised they were so far down the list).

I think my worst misses were Thomas, El Karkouri and Ambrose. Nearly 300 appearances between them!
  • That was entertaining! I scored 141/176, happy with that, I missed out on Newton and Perry! School boy error!
  • 122. im embarrassed. missed the china captain, grr!
  • I managed 156.

Biggest ones I missed out were El-Karkouri and Jerome Thomas.

Didn't realise how many games Thomas Myhre played for us either!

The 2007-2010 years really did have some mish-mash teams. Pretty much different line ups each season barring the odd couple. It's no surprise that our best years came when there was consistency within the side (early 2000s).

Most obscure one I got was Andy Todd.

  • That was good. Got all the older teams and the current side but struggled with the Ambrose era for some reason...
