The perfect day capped the perfect season. My son was one of the mascots and the tour was fantastic, Dave Berry was a top man in the directors lounge. Followed by a signing of a replica shirt and watching my son warming up on the pitch i felt a massive lump in my throat. The red devils and cards that were being held up was breath taking. As he walked out with the team with Scott Wagstaff that was it, i went, the emotion kicked in.
To top it all Scott Wagstaff gave my son his top at the end and big Yann gave him his tracksuit bottoms. The cherry on the cake was when SCP walked over to my son and had a picture taken with him with our new trophy.
Charlton you have done yourselves proud on the day, you have converted all of my wifes family on how impressed on how special they made his day.
A special mention must go to Sue Gallop who was a star and a fantastic ambassador for our club.

Great that the players like Waggy and Yann can do that to make a young man's day extra special. Its typical of the spirit in the club.
I posted elsewhere that I was on the train to my mates in Staplehurst and the lady ticket collector, spotting my Charlton shirt, said that her son went to the game with his school - his first ever game and he loved it. I asked her if he had a programme and she said he couldn't afford one. I gave her mine to give to him. It just seemed right to me.
With Chris at the helm and the team and all the staff and the fans pulling together, I feel we have got our Charlton back. Its the club I fell in love with - it is a love affair and its been on the rocks recently but thankfully our patience and forbearance has been reward in spectacular fashion. Will we ever see 101 points in a season again in our lifetime I wonder?
If Mr Morrison finds out you're two-timing him it could mean trouble.
Did i tell you about the thumbs up i got from Morrow when he was leaving the pitch after the warm up... I think i might have done. A few times. It was definitely aimed at me and no one else!
anyway dont want to go off topic on Dean's nice thread. I saw your son Dean as i was down the front in the West stand (stalking). He looked like he was loving it.
Its funny the two names that get mentioned once again are Wagstaff and Powell. They are both absolute gents. When my niece was mascot for one of the freezing midweek games earlier in the season, Wagstaff hadn't even made the squad but had heard she had said he was her favourite player, so he come down pitchside to say hello. He asked if she was cold and then said hang on, run into the dressing rooms and come back a few minutes later with a snood for her.
Powell had asked her her name before the game, and once the toss up was done and the game was about to kick off, she was running back towards the tunnel when Powell was calling her name from behind her. He come other, asked he is she had enjoyed it, then posed to have a couple of pics taken with her.
These are not your average football people.
I was fortunate enough to meet Waggy around 6 weeks or so ago and I echo what others have said, he really is a lovely bloke.
