They did it and well done to them. Their run under Jones has been terrific and you can't begrudge them promotion. It will be good to renew rivalries next season. A special mention to Sheff Utd, they amounted enough points to win most leagues but now face a difficult play offs and whilst they deserve to go up, I do fear for them a bit.
Congrats to Weds! It`s been a long battle but an exciting one. We will both sign some new players so don`t think either have anything to fear from the Championship next season.
Just shows how much of a 1 man team Utd were. Can see them blowing it in the play-offs. Can't knock Dave Jones for how he turned a hoofball team into a serious challenger from the moment he walked in the door. Who knows what would have happened if he arrived earlier?
Congratulations are in order and look forward to another round of banter next season (although you'll have to excuse us if we focus more on Millwall and palace than on yourselves).
Congrats. Fantastic 14 game run only to come second. Doubt you will have a relegation battle next season but doubt you will be involved at other end either.
fair play to wednesday but next time you have the chance to send palace down and stay up grow a pair you northern fools
The thing which i hold against Wednesday, could of send them jokers down that day. Overall well done Sheffield for getting second spot. Jones has done really well since he's been there
As the great Lennie Lawrence said, there are no false positions after 46 games - Wednesday deserved it. Including the derby win in Megson's last game, 11 wins and 2 draws in the last 13 is one hell of an end to the season ( albeit still a massive 8 points behind us ). I am pleased for Semedo and Big Mig, but I don't think either ( especially the latter ) will cut it in the Championship.
I think the Blades may struggle against Stevenage and that idiot Beattie ( Yann's attempted strangler ) getting sent off yesterday won't help their cause. I am so looking forward not to being involved in the play-offs. A festival of schadenfreude.
I think it showed that Megson had players that could play differently, but that he is a bit of a dinosaur. Wednesday fans have much to be grateful to him for, but his instinct is anti-football. He said not long before he got the sack that he was as good as any Premiership manager. I think this was the biggest joke statement possible- he has shown himself to be a lower league manager as his football ideas are 20 years out of date.
Cheers for the sentiments Charlton, I will be happy with a mid table finish next year if I'm honest, the last time we came up (under Paul Sturrock) we struggled like hell to stay up at first but this time there's a different feel good factor to it all, there's a real special buzz around Hillsborough these days, something I've not seen for years, yes the play off final win ( Under Sturrock) was special, like a cup final win, it was a fantastic way to be promoted but it has a hindrance, it puts you behind preparations for buying and moving players out as you don't know what division you'll be in until after the final, yesterday was better, especially as we pipped out city rivals, god you don't know what that feels like in this City believe me. We could of sold 55k yesterday such was the demand, plenty of people were trying to get tickets around the ground.
In my own opinion I think there is no reason that both Charlton and Wednesday can't challenge for the play offs next year, seriously who are going to be the real threats next year, Wolves possibly, Blackburn if they come down but they seem to have issues of their own, I'm fearing no one in the Champ next season and nether should you. Charlton have achieved an unbelievable 101 points and I can't remember the last time I saw this, fulham? but did they spent big, so credit goes to Chris Powell, think he'll become a decent manager and loyal one to you too, League one imo is much harder to get out of then the Championship.
With regards to losing to Palace, believe me that Wednesday side that day is a shadow of this one, that was the bottleless, gutless side I've ever seen that rolled over every week, But that's history, moving onwards and upwards some exciting times lay ahead for both teams I feel.
We have turned you into our rivals this season as we don't really have any in league one, but now we are meeting up with Palarse and the Spanners again and we will be hoping you match the 12 points we are going to get against them. Let's do League one proud as other have done before and get a one-two. Us on top of course!
Totally agree .Just a quick question OP do you like our MASSIVE points total ;-))
Outstanding mate, and I really mean that, you are Champions and deserve to be.

Hope so, there are some poor sides in the championship too, my bet for relegation next year would be Barnsley, Bristol City, and Peterboro or Millwall.

See you next season.

Good needle between us this season but both with what we wanted at the end of the day

Not mincing your words then.....................;-)
