He was just doing his job and it doesn't bother me at all that he didn't let Sully's friends on the pitch. What bothered me was the sly grin he had on his face after he has denied them coming on. It was like he was really proud of himself. I don't know the fella, but he seemed a bit simple, and he was doing what he had been told.
I totally agree with KHA this was just a celebration for the players and their family, close friends and hangers on. The question is where do the fans fit into this? They clearly don’t count, I wanted to see the team with the trophy not just four players at the back end of 200 hangers on, this was a complete and utter farce and who ever allowed this to happen should be ashamed. I am just pleased that I was at Carlisle as yesterday was an anti-climax. As the fans don't count in the celebrations, next year it’s on the pitch and give the fans their day
agree with KHA. Players should have done a lap on their own with the Cup. Far too many family on the pitch too. Partner, male or female, and kids is fine but parents, aunts, uncles, nephews etc etc was over the top.
Saying that Victoria Stanyon should have done a lap of honour with her back to the crowd and should have brought the lady from Npower round with her.

That Npower bird was a proper sort......................
If you put the stage in front of the away section, as suggested, you are likely to have the away supporters or their vacated seats as the backdrop in the pictures, which is not ideal.
The idea was to make the presentation as visible as possible to the maximum number of Charlton fans, which necessarily meant those in the west and the north, plus part of the east.
I'm not sure what the particular filming arrangements were on Saturday (I'm not involved in any of these issues directly) but the BBC generally contract out this job. It would be difficult to put the stage anywhere with good viewing from the gantry without upsetting more Charlton fans and creating strange backgrounds, like the safety control box.
My personal view is that there were way too many people on the pitch at the end and this should have been more tightly controlled, which itself would preclude players ignoring the instructions they had all been given and trying to get further people out of the crowd.
Doubtless on all these issues we will be better placed next year with the benefit of experience!

I like your optimism.
But lets carry on slagging off the steward.
