Bad Omen

I'm going to Preston on Saturday. Which will be my first league away game of this year (a mix of me being 15 and my family being piss poor).

However I have never in my previous 10 away games see Charlton win and one of those was Barnet last year - so feel free to blame a draw or defeat on me.

Sorry in advance ; )

  • Well at least you waited until the title was won before renewing your curse

    I'm so nice ; )

  • We will win --ye of little faith
  • Your luck is about to change friend.
  • If you are really a bad omen then reaching your 16th birthday could become a very difficult problem for you as most supporters would be after your blood.
If you are a curse on Charlton then it is a matter of life or your death !!!!

Go to Preston and enjoy yourself and forget about these superstitions but remember don't walk under a ladder nor let a black cat cross your path.

If Charlton lose then take this remedy
"Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
    Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
    Lizard's leg, and howlet's wing,--
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble."

Most of all. Enjoy the ups and downs of being a Charlton supporter because you are in for some good times and some bad times which has nothing to do with superstition but how the team play on the day. COYR
  • Mate; win, lose or draw, enjoy your day out and enjoy the glow of supporting the champions. It is clear that you and your family have sacrificed other things so that you can be there on Saturday. You are proper Charlton.
  • Well A4L, prepare yourself for a personal new experience cos we are gonna win tomorrow! It's as good as done.

    COYR!
  • Enjoy your day son, and to cure the curse just think about all the good things your family have done for you up to now, that should do it. Enjoy the game.

  • admire your honesty and at least we won't have to moan about squad players, poor refereeing, the wrong central midfield pairing etc...we can just blame you.

come 1655hrs tomorrow, I will be hovering over my keyboard ready to start a "Blame A4life" thread.

  • If only Charlton's fortunes really did depend on which away matches you chose to attend! Life would be so much simpler. I've no time at all for superstitions but, if it makes you feel any easier, this will be my fourth away match in 2011/12 and I haven't seen us lose yet - though that's not much of a claim in this record breaking season!

    Enjoy the game!
  • A4L, don't worry, we are going to win ... your jinx gets broken on Saturday
  • Saturday is about enjoying the celebration; win lose or draw. So enjoy it. Winning will of course make it better
  • I had a great day out and i don't care that we drew but.......

........the curse struck again!!!!!! 2-0 up at half time and when PNE got that free - kick I knew it was not meant to be.

I still had a great time though and will hopefully go to more away games in the Championship .

i went to 20 away games before my first win and one of these included a welling friendly !! but good old Chris Ilwelomo or however you spell it popped up in the last minute against Southampton it was a great feeling to get rid of the curse!
  • Addicted4life no need to worry. Your albatross is more than counterbalanced by my lucky pants.
  • You were not the jinx A4'. One of our group didnt get there til half time (following a heavy night in Liverpool), so while we saw a 2-2 draw he saw a 2-0 defeat.
  • exorcism is always an option
  • I think the goal in front of our fans was cursed, as all the goals and 95% of the action were down the other end!
