I feel sorry for Hollands

His sending off was terrible timing for him, on a personal level.

He missed the trip to Carlisle, the key game where got promotion and all the promotion celebrations on the pitch, in the dressing room and on the flight home.
He then misses the game where we win the Championship - yes he was there, but I'm sure it can't have been the same.
He'll be back next Saturday, when it's all over...

It looks like we'll have to get promoted again next season to make it up for him :-)

    At least he should be around for the last game of the season, for the trophy presentation.

    Anyway, hopefully he knows that he's more than done his bit, and has a contender for goal of the season as well!

    He needed a rest , he has played a lot of matches this season , i hope the 3 match ban , will bring him back refreshed and with a point to prove ( ie no ones guaranteed a place) i think he's been a very good aquisition by the way.

    I feel more sorry for the likes of Evina,HughesHayes and Sullivan who have had to sit out for the best part of the whole season but such is football.

    And let's not forget Matt Taylor who has played 36 of the first 37 games and was unlucky to lose his place. Maybe Cort should have taken it earlier, going by how he's played over the last 7 games but that's not to take anything away from Taylor.

    Hollands has been emense in my opinion ,the left footed triangle of Hollands ,Jackson and Wiggins has been a major part of our success this season and why we have been perfectly balanced.

    At least Taylor was at Carlisle, on the bench, there to enjoy the celebrations. The Charlton fans who went up to Carlisle will never forget the day, and neither will the players.

    Indeed, the likes of Hayes, Hughes, Evina and Sullivan were all there, it was just the poor Dannys Hollands and Green who were at home following it all on Sky/CAFC player :-(

    Hollands has had a major role so won't be down at all. As has been said- I think he needed a rest and has been a brilliant signing for us.

    Does Hollands come straight back into the team for the last 2 games?

    I certainly wouldn't drop Pritchard, is there a case for trying Hollands alongside him and putting Stephens on the bench?

    I think Hollands will play in last game, and keep Pritch and Stephens for Preston.

    im sure it doesnt bother him too much he didnt dress for carlisle/wycombe, thats part of life as a footballer. you get a RC and ur benched, tough luck mate!

    and im also positive that not a single charlton fan has forgotten what hollands has accomplished this season. hes been my favorite midfielder all season long with goals, ton of energy, occasional captaincy, and an overall very consistent midfielder!

    I believe fully that SCP will have made him aware individually how big a part he has played this season.

    For me Hollands epitomises Chris Powell's recruitment drive this summer. First in the door, in on a free, and I remember watching him for the first time and seeing a midfielder who tackled, put himself about and didn't waste possession. The possession was the best part, having watched Charlton lump the ball all over the place for the past few years. And when his passing is good, it's among the best in the league. Maybe Yann and Solly are better to watch and BWP scores more, but I'll always associate Hollands with the immense feeling of hope I got during kick-off against Bournemouth on the first day of the season, and the unbelieveable season we've had following on from that. Really glad to have him

First in the door, in on a free, and I remember watching him for the first time and seeing a midfielder who tackled, put himself about and didn't waste possession. The possession was the best part, having watched Charlton lump the ball all over the place for the past few years. And when his passing is good, it's among the best in the league. Maybe Yann and Solly are better to watch and BWP scores more, but I'll always associate Hollands with the immense feeling of hope I got during kick-off against Bournemouth on the first day of the season, and the unbelieveable season we've had following on from that.     This..............plus the fact that SCP rates him very highly as evidenced by his ever present selection until his suspension. I do not feel sorry for him though he's done his bit and like all players they run the risk of missing ganes through injury or suspension. Can't believe some on here have been questioning the CM this year and even more so for next year with comments like 'He will be a good squad player in the Championship' and 'The CM needs the most surgery' WTF.
