Fully expect him to be given a chance. If, like anyone else, he's struggling by Christmas, that could possibly be the case in January. He's still young and has already had to step up to a far bigger club.
Reading what the chairman is saying, it looks like we are going all out to push on next year and strengthen the squad. I have a feeling that we will have a very busy summer transfer wise.
I find Michael Slaters comments very encouraging. Seems that they are approaching Charlton as a real business venture. When you have success build on it quickly to maximise. Recognising that standing still (consolidation) is in fact going backwards will be key. I can't see wholesale change again but like Scoham I see we need 4 or 5 in to build on what's already been achieved. If we are in a position to make those investments in the team I can see a playoff push but as already said The Champioship is very competative. Priority is a playmaker to complement Hollands.
With the squad we have currently I hope to stay in the league next year and continue building on and off the field and for Powell to continue to learn his new trade. There's no rush and it's a new league with new types of teams and games for our club to adjust too. Expectations may change with any signings but even then there would have to be some serious quality signings for me to change my hopes and what I'd be happy with.

We already have one imo he's called Dale Stephens...............only 22 and learning all the time. SCP clearly rates him by keep playing him despite what his detractors think on here.
