  • great fun beating them 4-0 on their joyous return to the prem
  • New away end!

    We'll fill that then! ;-)
Eighteen million poundsworth, bet they wish they'd waited.

  • Doubt away fans will even get that end and still get the lower stand on the side.

Bet they wished they'd spent it on some decent players!
  • Been there a few times, Always a good away day..

Their return to the top flight after 17 years. Who did they get?

    Utd?, Liverpool?, Arsenal?, Chelsea?

Oh no - little old Charlton. And a 0-4 drubbing :-). I still think it's the biggest away win I've seen.

Away fans will be in the black seats on the upper tier. Should be a good view!
  • "was it really worth the wait" after we had gone 4 up :)

    LOL! Great chant!
  • That new stand is going to home fans apparently.

  • Playing a team with the likes of fetcher, Doyle and Johnson in it really brings home the need to strengthen in key positions.
For the record, Johnson has been absolute poo poo this season.
  • Hopefully we'll be behind one of the goals. If we're along that crappy, shallow side bit I probably won't bother going back. Awful stand to try and create an atmosphere.
  • Wolves are in a bad, bad way.

It looks like the dynamic duo of Morgan/Moxey fancy themselves as "football people" and started getting far too involved behind the scenes - resulting in the farcical McCarthy sacking and appointment of Terry "One Point" Connor.

If they could not bring in a good manager when in the PL then God only knows who they'll bring in for the CCC.

Would love to play them early in the season, they'll be a shambles.

Agreed actually, but there must be a reason for it. He is a very good player, but not for them.

Away fans are normally on the side of the picth may change with the new stand being bulit

sounds familiar to me ..... no i don't want you to do the last year of your contract mr curbishley
  • All proper Charlton have not only been to Wolves, but have been there midweek AND for a Sunday match that was live on the telly.
    couldn't agree more

    Alex Dyer's debut

    Nelson being sent off
I'm sure I was at that game. What year was it?
  • The last time I was at molineux you needed binoculars to see the pitch as the stand seemed closer to Birmingham. Think this was due to them turning the pitch round (although I could be wrong).
  • I reckon we will beat them.

Seems to have had a terrible attitude this year. Had an on-pitch bust up and turned up to training drunk once. Dann and Johnson were two players who were highly coveted after Birmingham went down last season, now it looks like they're going down again but with different teams. Plus Dann ruptured a bollock this season. It's really not going well for those two.
  • Guy I used to work with is a Palarse fan and went to all their games. Only time he ever had any trouble was in Wolverhampton where he was beaten up by some local 'fans' on his way back to his car after the game.
  • got a funny feeling we will play them at their place first game of the season
  • Shite place, fantastic ground, horrible fans, worse than the Wendies, got memories of some right dodgy moments. Can't wait to go again next season!!

Remember the Sunday game live on ITV, there were not that many of us, we went by coach. Leaburn got sent off for a tangle with John De Wolf I think in the 1st half and then we played them off the pitch with 10 men in the 2nd half and would have won if their keeper hadn`t pulled off a blinder from John Robinson`s header.

Also went the cup replay when Holmes was "attacked" by Muscat who always was and still is a dirty piece of s**t.

They moved the pitch towards the Steve Bull Stand when they redeveloped the stadium in the 90s. The new stand is a lot closer to the pitch than the old North Bank, shame that they're not going ahead with the new Steve bull stand as the new stand looks a bit out of place on it's own.

That'll be me then. 2-1 loss in '92 on ITV's 'The Sunday Match' along with these Tuesday night matches - 3-2 win in the promotion season of 99-00, the 0-3 FA Cup loss in 98 (Bright sent off, Holmes's career ended by Muscat), 1-0 loss on a Friday night in '96 (dodgy penalty in a live Sky game), boring 0-0 League Cup match in '95 and 2-0 loss in '94 (Brown missed pen in 1st minute, comedy OG from Chapple).
  • I thought Wolves acquitted themselves very well against Man City tbh. If they can hold that squad together they won't be too far off going straight back up. I reckon the parachute money should pay for them to have at least one year of same squad. Even if they lose one or two they can replace with decent quality.
  • That new stand - it looks like the architects were told to design it with a roof that would keep at least two rows dry in the event of rain.
  • Interesting thread been running for months on one of my other favorite sites (work safe ones anyway). I guess the motto is, "do not start to build a new 40,000 seat stadium for the Premiership when your team are not good enough to stay up!". Good motto that.
