East Stand Block F

Two guys I sat next to yesterday at the back of the stand. Why do they bother going?
They spent their entire time moaning, not once, even we scored did they pack it in. At half time they involved others around them.
Maybe its me but I thought I was watching two teams, one about to win the league by some margin and another scraping for their lives. Hence a not one side walk over.
At 82 minutes they upped and left to miss the traffic. They must have been suicidal for the last few years

  • I wonder if they know the old bloke in block C a few rows in front of me !

Sounds like they have a lot in common. When he called Prichard pathetic yesterday is was just unreal.

No idea why people like this go.
  • Don't understand why people left early when we was about to clinch champions!
  • Some people, I guess, are only happy when they are moaning.
I know we think we know how to play the game or how or what players should do and all their failings. But I suspect the truth is most of us have no idea how to set up a team and get them to play.
We should enjoy every minute of days like yesterday, they are sparse when you support Charlton
  • I think a lot of people stopped getting out of their seats when they made the announcement that the valley express coaches were being held back.

I used to sit in the east block F row F for years and there was always a pair of blokes sat in the row in front who would constantly moan and berate the players. Them moaning about Kishishev and Bryan Hughes relentlessly stayed in my mind all these years later. Also remember there being quite a few moaners in that block further up towards the back. Mainly old blokes but few women / younger blokes, looked like a family of them, who used to always moan about Curbs amongst other things...

I can understand the odd moan or frustration when things aren't going our way but why on Earth do people go regularly with that sort of attitude. I know it's only a select few or minority but it's just mind boggling to me
  • The guy infront of me thinks Chris Solly is useless and Rhoys Wiggins is pathetic. He remained seated when Kermorgant whacked in the freekick yesterday. Took me a while to get used to it, now I think its laughable!
  • It's an east stand thing

2 fellas in block e about row k/l spent most of yesterday slagging the performance as they do every week.

God knows how bad they will be next season when we inevitably lose more
  • I had 2 people next to me who had big massive cameras and who decided to take pictures all game instead of watch it
  • 4 minutes in and the block behind me said 'come on Bradley up your game son this isn't good enough'

he kept on encouraging the players in the voice/accent/comment of their country. so 'come on rhoys boyo' and something about france when he was saying something about Yann.

He at one point complained about something and said 'you don't get this on a rugby pitch'. He was wearing a gilet was posh. Once he slagged off a player who then did something amazing and we nearly scored and even his mate who clearly hadn't been to charlton before (which wasn't the problem) who was asking about players etc told him that he was wrong to criticise when the player did something amazing.

so frustrating. didn't let it spoil the day though, but when its more crowded you notice other people more as you have to be closer to them!

The guy next to me, didn't even move all game, just sat there with his thumb on his phone all game. annoying cos when i stood up i couldn't get my chair back down as his coat pocket was full up and my chair kept on getting stuck on it. he tapped his leg with his hand when we scored and left before the end.

Unreal what some people think, thankfully where we sit we just have ragulars who don't really moan

  • You should move to the East stand and join the Ultras!

I wonder if we are thinking about the same people... Around seat 108/109?
I'm in row G and these two guys annoy me so much and the (absolutely lovely) guy that sit next to me gets so infuriated by him.
  • the two old guys in the row behind me in the NU (H block) have spent the entire season slagging BWP off....they are like the two old boys off the Muppet Show
  • I hate it when the fans boo the players for passing the ball back and keeping procession, unless Hamer rockets it up the pitch! Haven't they seen Swansea play this season?

It's not just an East Stand thing. There's a bloke that sits 3 rows behind me in North Lower, just swears at and slags off all the players, all game, every game. I'm guessing he gets some sort of enjoyment out of it!
  • @Huskaris definitely the same people.

    Im row H 108

Probably a nice bloke outside The Valley but very annoying inside. We have had the same seats since 1994 so looks like we are stuck with them...
  • A guy who sits near me in block E row K ish? Was slagging dale stephens off the whole game yesterday- yelling at the players even in the 87th minute when there shouldn't have been a worry in the world for any charlton fan (other than Sheff equalising) some of the things that spurt out of his mouth make him sound as if he knows nowt about football
  • Same bloke LilAddick

Maybe we should start a petition...
  • To be fair, I think it's a football thing, maybe even a humankind thing. A lot of people spend a lot of time moaning.
It wouldn't happen on here of course.
  • a favourite line of his is; "Get it on the deck!" or "This is football!" I'm glad he's there week in week out as i often find myself going to charlton expecting trys and conversions ;-)

  • LOL, "Somebody tackle somebody" is my personal favourite.

I can live with him at the moment even though you know when we arent 3-0 up against Hartlepool after 20 mins he will be giving it.

Wiggins got some terrible grief off him yesterday.

    Next year might be different.
  • We've just won the title yet we have a thread slagging eachother off. It happens, it always has, it always will. Everyone's opinions are different and some express it more than others. It's a pain in the arse listening to some moaner nearby but you've just got to get on with it!
  • JT is it you? :)

He really is an annoying tw*t. The guy in front of him makes a lot of noise too (broke a seat last season).
I think we should have a whipround to get him a seat in the Upper North. He is the only person I have seen who gets annoyed more and more as the team is doing better and better, it's almost like the better we do the more annoyed he gets.
  • We can say what we want, we can say what we waaaaant, east stand supporters, we say what we want!
  • Bloke behind me in block C was shocking yesterday.

He would not shut up about a couple of poor Wiggins crosses and then continued to slate him off for the entire game. I wonder if he has actually been to any other games this season because he did not have a clue what he was on talking about.

I was though happily surprised when most of MY C block stood up when we were signing 'stand up if your champions'. Maybe they do care after all.
  • These the guys?
  • Man behind me in West Stand constantly talks (very loudly) for whole game - mostly about absolutely trash, but spends about quarter of the game slagging off players (usually Stephens), and also trying to impress whoever he has dragged along with him for the match - almost told him politely to be quiet for 2 minutes yesterday, to give my head a rest, but other half told me not too! Have renewed my ST but will be looking to swap seats asap, can't take another match - thank god he has said he can't make Hartlepool - least I can enjoy one game this season!
