Perfect finish to the season. Rare feeling and could get to like it. Well done and congatulations to a team of lionhearts, the great legend Chris Powell, the Board and all the Charlton heartbeat where ever you are.
What a great day, home and ready for a few drinks now ... can't want to get to Preston next week and then final celebration day against Hartlepool and their great fans
for those of us not lucky enough to be there can anyone describe the celebrations? team, fans etc?
The game ended and there was still 3 minutes left of the MK Dons game. The team congregated in the centre of the field and the Wycombe team were clapped of by the Charlton fans. Then there was silence as BDL read out the results of all the other teams leaving MK Dons till last. Then it went mental , lots of singing and jumping around.
A pitch invader got on the pitch and was chased by stewards until he was caught by Pritchard who gave him a hug (awww) and then handed him over to the stewards.
The players then did a lap of honour around the pitch , past the Jimmy Seed where they were applauded by the 6 Wycombe fans left. The team were applauded and serenaded with "we are the champions" as they went down the tunel.
Powell did an interview on the pitch and then did the tunnel jump and climbed on the advertising hoardings. Got so much love for that man. Great day!
A long way away from where I would like to be with my kids today. Like last week it sounds amazing. Thanks for making it more real for all of us who could not be there. Big celebration in Cape Town tonight. Cheers All
After the results had been called out we were told there was a few minutes left at MK Dons and we would have to wait.
Then the guy with the mike (is that BDL?) shouted into the microphone "Champioooons!" and the ground erupted. It was, looking back, the most fantastic way to tell us all.
That was me KHA, proudest day ever at the Valley. CHAMPIONS!
Had you thought about doing that? Did it think about it while we were waiting? Or did you just shout it out immediately you heard the final score from MK?
My heart is swelling with pride. This has been a season to remember for all the right reasons and we should revel in our moment of glory.
To Chris Powell, to every player who has played even a minute, to the board, to the admin staff, to anyone who has played a part this season, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Paul screamed in my ear over the radio and I just let it go. We're up, we're champions and we're all so bloody happy...
So weird and the first EVER time to see something at the Valley. This is my 4th only promotion but to be at the Valley crowned as Champions is something special. Wanted us to confirmed to be going up at the Valley but it had that romantic feel to be going up at Carlisle (I wasn't at that game) ... to add the round of applause to greet them all as they were already up was something special. This tops all that. Enyoed the fantastic singing in the pub after.. loved the song "We all dream of a team of Kermogants". Pls guys sing that at the last game and pls sing a song for ever player that has played for us this season and show how much appreciation we have for every one of our players.

From the travel up to Carlisle and the celebrations last week to the game today and great atmosphere.
I'm actually behaving myself tonight and limited myself to a couple in the Lib.
I can't wait for the party in Preston next week. The night out after Hartlepool or the POTY do the next day.
I'd honestly forgotten what's its like for football to feel so good.
Makes sweet reading.
